Since Gortat has joined the Suns, his % of available defensive rebounds is 18.8% compared to 12.9% for Lopez. This means that for 100 defensive rebound opportunities, Gortat would get 18.8 of them. In his Orlando time it was 20.7%

Oh and btw, Frye is at 18.8% as well.
For comparison:
Kevin Love - 30.9%
Marcus Camby - 30.2%
Dwight Howard - 28.3%
Blake Griffin - 24.7%
Josh Smith - 20.2%
Amare Stoudemire - 18.5%
Grant Hill - 12%
I like that statistic Suns_fan... is there a way to select it league wide?
At that site I noticed that in his first couple of games as a Sun, Gortat had already played with 15 different line ups - 9 minutes being the longest with any one or them.
A little broader base - rebounds per minute played for all PFs and Cs (this year, over 300 minutes): Gortat is 25th among 97 with Warrick 81st and Frye 84th the closest other Suns.
I know a lot people dislike per minute stats but I've found that they are much more consistent over a players career than per game stats. With rebounds you do find a bit of a discontinuity - they go up by about 1.5/40 min when a guy switches from PF to C and drop the same on the opposite switch.
I'd be quite surprised if Gortat's stats didn't stay in the same range so you can almost bank on him being our top rebounder by a fair margin.
