I think you can blame this firing on the GM. The Blazers are dysfunctional this season because there are too many questions in regards to the players responsibilities on the team. The moves they made over the summer and not trading anyone before the deadline just puzzle me. Why did they hang on to expiring contracts if they were not going to trade them before the season ended.

Let's hope the new coach gives Abdur-Rahim some more minutes. I have him on two fantasy teams and have been waiting all season for him to produce.

Their GM (last named Nash) has made an incredible number of strange moves this season. Mo may not be much of a coach, but I'm not sure anyone could have turned this group around.

they should fire the players. they are the ones that arent doing what they should. the jailblazers are one of great shames of the nba (so far this year they have been a little quite).

The fact is their GM has had the chance to unload some of these guys, but has refused.

The main problem the Blazers have beyond zero chemistry is that they have some really awful contracts. This is true even after some of these guy like NVE and Damon go off contract. Patterson will get $6.3 million next year and has one more year of player option. Derek Anderson will be making over $9 million next season and isn't worth $2 million. Darius Miles gets $6.7 million next season and isn't even a regular starter.

John Nash is as good as gone this summer. IIRC, he deal is up and he has done absolutely nothing to fix the team in the past 2 years.

It has already been proven that the line about cleaning up the organization was a farce. He offered 100 million to 2 of the worst character guys on the team.

Paul Allen needs to give a new GM some job security, and let him take the 2 to 3 years it will take to blow this team up and start rebuilding from complete scratch. Meaning trying to ditch both Randolph and Miles (although it is very hard since they have their new deals), and not worrying about the win totals.

Only way to fix a franchise like this is to take the "win now" pressure away completely and let a GM have a chance to make some moves for the future.
