Huh? Where? Even more importantly, what does that have to do with the price of tea in China. You said he's overpaid, and he's overpaid because some people wanted to pay him the max?
If I recall correctly, SOME people were saying just pay Bledsoe the max during all those threads about his contract. Also, read what I said. I am not a huge fan of building around PG's. Aside from a future hall of famer like Nash....I simply am not a fan. I think you can get a competent PG much easier than say a legit big man. There is a huge difference between market rate and actual value. So the price of tea in China is very relevant. It's simple supply and demand. Sometimes you have to overpay for something that doesn't inherently provide equivalent value.
I get it. Sometimes it has to be done. That's why I alluded above that paying him $14 million might make sense in a tight market. Not to mention that we all know the teams "guard" philosophy at the moment. Did he get a fair contract? I think so but man I hate building around a PG the majority of the time. I am always leery about spending on a PG..hence my thoughts on overspending on PG's. Keep in mind also I admitted I might be undervaluing him based on my feelings about that type of strategy.
Maybe you were unaware, but he was on the Clippers before he came here. Not only was he young, but he was behind a pretty good point guard there, which is why his minutes were limited.
Sure I am and I get it. Didn't you see where I posted that maybe he was always better than he showed before?
You're making your argument based off of a hypothetical market that didn't and doesn't exist?
No. I am basing my argument on the perceived value of Bledsoe, the cost of building around a PG, the ability to get competent PG's in the league compared to building around a FC. As stated before, I am not a big fan of spending a ton of money on a PG versus a big man. I said I was CURIOUS how we would have made out in a different market. It was just a hypothetical question. Nothing more.
