A blocking FB is the one thing that Whis has said we need. I like Femi, but he doesn't fit the role of a blocking FB.

Does anyone have any ideas as to who we could bring in via trade, FA or the draft?

Check out Corey Anderson or Le'Ron McClain in the draft. Both are very good blockers IMO.

I think FB is the hardest position to draft

And remember Jeff Paulk was a monster at ASU, but he fizzled out like a bad fart in the NFL. Last I heard, he was a bouncer at Sonny's cabaret....

We could try to convert Wakefield for the third time!

I am really looking forward to seeing how much Whisenhunt likes Femi and JJ.

The most important steps to becoming high-scoring were correcting the offensive line, which might've happened through the course of the year, but, then was to get someone in here who knows how to execute a functional, mult-faceted scoring offense. I have nothing but props for the guys they've brought in here. The offense in Pittsburgh was a Super Bowl-winning one that employed a great variety of run plays. The play-calling in Dallas was very nice and they were able to get a multitude of players involved. Grimm's probably going to the Hall of Fame as a player and is coaching at the position he played at.

This powerful blend, I believe, will cause us to swarm through the NFC West. I know patience is being teached, because sometimes it takes awhile for new pieces to gel. But, generally, the new pieces have headphones on. There is a beautiful simplicity in, as Boldin puts it, "delivering the ball into the hands of the playmakers."

As long as our defense plays physical and we get some halfway decent corners, we will out-physical the finesse Rams and make the turnover-prone Seahawks wonder what hit them. Our offense could be as good as the 1998 Vikings, 2001 Rams and 2002 Raiders. Of course, none of them won Super Bowls which is why we must have a good defense, too.

I have always like Cory Schlesinger from Detroit. It seems like he enjoys hitting people and is a good pass receiver out of the backfield.

Brian Leonard.Outstanding blocker, runner, receiver. He just might not get through the 1st round.

More of an H-Back than a FB. Simply not big enough to be a lead blocker. Good pass catcher, though.

He's only 20 lbs lighter than Lorenzo Neal. He could easily put half that weight on between now and the combine.

You have to like Wakefield's attitude though
You work with what you have.

If we can pick up a strong lead blocker, I'd expect Wiz to run a lot of ISO stuff out of a base "I" or broken "I."

But if we can't, I could see him going to Plan B - i.e. run a lot of one-back with Wakefield or another designated H-Back serving as whammer on run plays (the way Wiz did with the Skins).

You mean Joel Miss-a-blocka

no, he means Joel Suckad*cka

can you believe that NFL properties wouldn't let us order jerseys with that on the back?

they also wouldn't allow:

Jake Plunger
Michael Shittman
Andre Wads-o-crap or Wadsworthless

we had a couple of others we were gunning for too, but they all got negged.

Isn't Maruice Hicks a blocking fullback? He's a free agent. Doesn't LaBrandon Toefield open lanes for Fred Taylor and Maurice Drew?

John Bronson will get a shot, perhaps AJ Schable also. Can either of them
do the job? There was no way to know with the offense the Cardinals ran last year.
