Blow it up...literally. Nothing more frustrating than this.

The bullpen woes is all on Josh Byrnes. We all knew after last year the bullpen needed to be blown up and what does Byrnes do, he brings in Howry and Heilman. I don't care what people think of Valverde, he might of made you nervous but he was never as bad as any of these clowns. Should of tried to sign Papa Grande. Maybe Howry can lead the NL in giving up homers.

If this team had a decent bullpen, they would be in first place. One of the main reasons the 2007 team made the playoffs was due to the bullpen.

Here is the thing your missing, if we sign Valverde who do you get rid of? They are already over budget with this team. With Valverde on board there is no way the team has the money to sign LaRoche and Kelly Johnson. I'm as pissed off as the next guy about this bullpen but you need to look at the bigger picture. I am all for DFAing Howry and bringing someone else up, even if they aren't quite ready.

Howry and Gutierrez combined make $6 million while Valverde makes $7 million. $1 million is the only difference and how much are all these loses costing the team? I'm just sick of signing guys on hope they have a career year. I want quality over quantity.

No idea where you got those numbers, but Howry got a $2.5 million contract and Gutierrez is still near league minimum since he hasn't even reach arbitration yet. Heilman we got in a trade and settled for $2.15 million instead of going to arbitration.

Howry and Gutierrez ...
I really thought Gutierrez has what it takes to be an effective closer, let alone setup man. He looked to be the best of the lot.

Boy, was I wrong. When he pitches for the corners, he walks 'em. When he puts it over the plate, they own him.

Daron Sutton said Mel, Jr., is having many sleepless nights. 'Sorry, but I hope so. Maybe he'll decide he can't take the stress and get off his father's coattails.

Joe Garagiola, Jr., all over again. Nepotism doesn't necessarily produce excellence.

Ken Griffey, Jr., beyond Sr. Yes.

Barry Bonds beyong Bobby. Only with "help". :)
