PORT HURON — For some towns in the Blue Water Area, girls high school basketball has never been better.

Take Yale, for example, which saw its Bulldogs record the best season in team history — a season led by one of the state's best players.

Junior guard Sadie Dykstra was named to the 2025 Michigan Sports Writers All-State Division 2 Second Team this week.

She was one of six athletes from the Blue Water Area that were recognized across two divisions. Here's a closer look at each player.

Division 2

Alexis Bruyere, Imlay City (All-State Second Team): Though only a sophomore, Bruyere cemented herself as elite force this season. The guard averaged 17.0 points, 3.8 steals, 2.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. She scored a career-high 38 points in a win over North Branch on Feb. 21. Bruyere was named to the BWAC All-Conference First Team.

Sadie Dykstra, Yale (All-State Second Team): Dykstra led the Bulldogs a program-record 22-4 finish, a BWAC championship (shared with Armada) and a district title. She averaged 22.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals, 3.2 assists and 0.8 blocks per game. In addition to surpassing 1,000 career points this year, the junior set the team's single-season scoring record at 596. Her 38 points against Richmond on Dec. 12, 2024, are the most ever by a Yale basketball player (girls or boys) in one game. Dykstra was also named the BWAC MVP.

Claire Sniesak, Armada (Honorable Mention): The senior guard helped guide the Tigers to a 19-4 record, a BWAC title (shared with Yale) and a district championship. Sniesak averaged 15.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game. She was a BWAC All-Conference First Team selection.

Ashlyn Upton, Armada (Honorable Mention): As the other half of Armada's senior backcourt, Upton averaged 15.1 points, 6.2 steals, 6.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. She, too, was named to the BWAC All-Conference First Team.

Division 3

Grace Guibord, Sandusky (All-State Second Team): The senior guard guided the Wolves to a 24-3 record, a BTC Black championship, a district championship and a regional championship. Guibord averaged 10.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game. She was an All-BTC Black First Team selection.

Caroline Reinke, Sandusky (All-State Second Team): As Guibord's protégé, the sophomore guard averaged 10.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Reinke was also named to the All-BTC Black First Team.
