It's possible that the Cards could keep Robinson on as some kind of coaching intern, but if there's some possibility that Robinson would get on a roster somewhere else (the Bills just transitioned to a 3-4 and don't have much of an option at NT, and the Dolphins lost their projected starting NT to retirement just before camp), why would he do that?
B-Rob was set to retire until the Cardinals went to him and asked him to return. He has been asked to mentor Williams. I just don't think he would be interested in going to another team, at this point in his career.

My guess, they keep 3 NT to start the season. If Watson and Williams are carrying the load once the season is underway, Robinson could then be cut at some point, in order to bring in someone at a position of need due to injuries.

Edit: Just saw the posts about guaranteed salaries. So it's either the W-wides; Watson and Williams; or all three NT. Either way the point is Watson will not be cut.

Mitch, a small point. Since he hasn't really participated in the Spring or Summer or the PS games, I doubt if Schofield will play at all this year. Therefore, I expect Baggs or Washington to make the team, or a WW pickup. JMO.

Here's what seems about right to me at this point:

NT (3): Robinson, Watson, Williams

DE (4): Dockett, Campbell, Iwebema, Branch

ILB (4): Lenon, Washington, Walker, Togafau (Hayes-PUP-1st 6 games)

OLB (4): Haggans, Porter, Davis, Brown, (Schofield-IR)

CB (6): Rodgers-Cromartie, Toler, Green, Adams, McBride, Miller-KO Returner with LSH

S (4): Wilson, Rhodes, Ware, Johnson

That's 25...I think will try to waive Baggs and sign him to the PS and promote him if and when needed.
My opinion: subtract one corner (don't know which one), add one safety (Hamza Abdullah).

If B-Rob is cut, Baggs is in!

Another thought: If Hayes does stay on PUP for the first 6 games, they could consider keeping all three NT's to see what they have in Dan Williams in his first season.

Agree with the comments from Gee! and Longcolts about Kemp. He makes some good observations/commentary; but I can't stand his attitude. Why anyone would call in to his program is beyond my comprehension.

There is no way the Cards just let Watson go. He has looked the best at NT so far. Even if they decide to go with Robinson and Williams I don't think they would just cut Watson. I'm sure they could Trade him to a team running the 3-4 for at least a late round pick. Hell if the Niners can get a 6th rounder for Balmer, I'm sure the Cards could get something for Watson.

Still I would much rather see Watson remain on this team. Williams isn't ready yet and who knows if Robinson can make it through another long season.

Also I have to echo what others have said here. I find it painful to listen to Kemp. He does come off as a holier than thou type of guy.

You're leaving yourself awful thin at ILB if you only end up keeping 3 of them and a scrub like Washington. I think the Cards would rather gamble that Hayes can get himself into shape.

From what I'm hearing now, it sounds like Bryan Robinson may be the guy who's caught in a numbers game. We'll see if Gabe Watson starts getting reps with the #1s in the next couple games.

Wow, it might just be me, but Kemp spending all of camp actually watching the Cards seems like something he NEVER would have done 5-10 years ago.

He wanted a vacation from the heat on the stations dime, that's all. I can listen to Kemp all day if he is talking about Baseball, but any other sport I find him to be clueless and all he does is just read headlines from the papers and the internet.

Hey broken record, how about giving it a rest, eh? We could be discussing the pros and cons of stem cell research, and I swear you'd say something like the following: "I think it can really help the medical field moving forward, oh, and Washington's a bum".

At this point, I have to seriously question whether you're doing it simply as attention seeking behavior. What other reason would there be for acting like such a playground name-caller when it comes to one player? We know your opinion. It is well recorded. There's no need to put it in in such a childish manner every opportunity you find or make up all on your own! Sheesh!

I'm surprised at all the hate for Bob Kemp. Among many other annoying voices, I think he's one of the most thoughtful and interesting options on the radio.

I don't get that at all, and like the back and forth he has with most people. Sure, he'll call out idiots, but I'm happy that he does.

isn't there another ILBer we have deep on the depth chart named Washington besides the rook? Like Mark Washington or something? I'm pretty sure that's who K9's talking about.

Only Mark Washington is an OLB and not an ILB.

Possibly so. Maybe I'm just so used to hearing him bag on our rook that I misinterpreted. If so, I certainly apologize.

I was meaning Mark Washington but I really meant Reggie Walker.

I do not think that Daryl Washington is a scrub... I just don't think he should be short-listed for the All Pro ballot yet.

And for what it's worth I like Kemp more than Wolfley and Jurecki and Bickley because he actually talks about sports. God forbid.

Kemp didn't think that J.J. Arrington would amount to anything and he turned out to be right. He's pretty even-keeled, which is why I think that people here hate him so much. He tends not to say things like "Rashad Johnson isn't good;" he tends to say that coaches don't seem to be liking what people are doing, or that coaches have been complimenting Paris Lenon's play on the field.

I'm not sure why people have to hate because he correctly called a spade a spade when the Cards weren't very good. As a former national personality, he is holier than Bickely and M.J. or Wolfley.

And so I apologize. That's what threw me, not figuring you'd be talking about Mark Washington.

I don't think he talks much sports to be honest. The first 50% of his show is just him reading headlines or talking about what he will eventually talk about - "I am going to talk about this, then this, oh yeah here is the booing sounder again, then I will talk about this, then I will take some phone calls, not yet but later, then I will talk about this" That is the first hour of his show, I actually timed it one day while driving from Surprise to Maricopa. 62 minutes of talking about what he will eventually talk about.

In general I don't like AZ sports radio all together. MJ&Bick spend 50% of their show talking to some concert promoter to talk about anything but sports or talking about drinking they have done in the past. Doug and Wolf spend half their time saying the exact same sayings and phrases 500 times per day or Doug trying way to hard to funny or Wolf trying way to hard to be hip. You got to know when to listen, MJ generally talks football at the top of the 4 o'clock hour or the 5 o'clock hour, Doug and Wolf have like a sweet spot of good sports talk between 7 and 8. Kemp you can just skip the whole first half of his show for reasons already stated.

I'm so glad I've got the NFLN on XM/Sirius. Too bad my XM radio is in the Yukon and not my commuter car.

Yeah... but Kemp just went position by position over the Cards' offensive roster for 15 minutes. Most of the time I have it in the background and zone in when he starts talking about something that I'm interested in.

By noon the days' sports stories and takes are generally set. Kemp isn't stupid; he knows that 70% of the sports talk audience is listening to Rome from 12 to 1 anyway. That's why KDUS plays that terrible uber-local program ahead of him (who cares about Grand Canyon U soccer?).

I also like how Kemp has interviews where he generally seems to be interested in what the out-of-state beat writers have to say, and has good questions from a national perspective. I know what I think about local sports; I like the national perspective, but I think that the national radio shows are stretched a little thin.

That is the best thing Kemp does. Does like 5 call in's with like 5 beat writers in a row almost every day.
