I don't get that at all, and like the back and forth he has with most people. Sure, he'll call out idiots, but I'm happy that he does.

ive only called in to disagree
I think Kemp ridicules any caller that disagrees with him, and/or manipulates the callers to make them appear to be idiots.

And NO, I have never called in...

It's not Kemps sports knowledge the turns me off, it's how he demeans callers. Why people tolerate his behavior/attitude I don't understand.

isn't there another ILBer we have deep on the depth chart named Washington besides the rook? Like Mark Washington or something? I'm pretty sure that's who K9's talking about.

... but, Mark W. is an outside LB.

I'm with those who can't imagine Robinson staying and Watsion getting cut. Doesn't make sense at all. Watson and Williams are the present and future of our NT position. Robinson, while a "coaches" favorite, has served his purpose.

We could cut him and still get him later on if we get one of either Watson/Williams hurt. Noone is going to pick him up if we don't keep him.

Agreed.

I would keep all three since Robinson is an old man. He can play NT, and DE, plus if Watson & Williams play to NFL levels, Robinson could be an easy inactive choice on game day.

Kemp knows more about what is going on in baseball and football than any other broadcaster in the Valley by a mile-and-a-half. Who else would watch every single Cards practice and give such a complete breakdown on how he thought each player did? Gambo and Ash have been up there but they aren't watching much of the practices.

He can be abrasive (mostly to callers who give an opinion and can't back it up with a single fact), but I always learn something on his show. If I get a chance to listen to it.

I'm disappointed that there was so much Bob Kemp (Bob's good, no he's bad) and not so much defensive roster.

NT: Bryan Robinson, Dan Williams. Kemp feels that Gabe Watson--who he thinks has performed the best of the three--is not likely to make team unless we decide to go with 3 NTs.

DE: Darnell Dockett, Calais Campbell, Alan Branch, Kenny Iwebema. He said that he expects Dockett and Campbell to combine for 20 sacks this year. Mentioned that Iwebema is an excellent special teams player.

ILB: Gerald Hayes (PUP), Paris Lenon, Daryl Washington are all in. Pago Togafau may have the inside track for the fourth spot. Lenon has been really impressive in practices, with the coaches complimenting him.

CB: Dominique Rogers-Cromartie and Greg Toler are in. Marshay Green has been very good in practices. Trumaine McBride gets burned deep every single day and is a huge question mark. There are two roster spots open between Adams, Green, and the rest. Jorrick Calvin may be the second fastest player on the team but has no idea how to play cornerback.

S: Expects Adrian Wilson, Rhodes, and Matt Ware to be the best safety trio in the NFL should everyone stay healthy. There's a real battle between Hamza Abdullah and Rashad Johnson, and no one should be surprised if Johnson is the odd man out because Abdullah is a superior special teams player.

Other thing that Kemp mentioned was that the Cards haven't showed it in the preseason, but they've been working in a lot of 4-1-6 formations in camp. Basically the front four are pass rushers, with Paris Lenon at MLB, and Adrian Wilson plays essentially linebacker with Rhodes and Ware behind him and whoever is the nickel cornerback.

Interesting stuff. What about Biesel? Is he out as one of the ILB's? Seems like Calvin should maybe at least make the PS since he was drafted.

Also as to the 4-1-6 formation who would there be a place for Watson at one of the DT's in it maybe? I wonder how many CB's and how many Safeties will be in that 6? I hate to think Rashad Johnson gets cut. Maybe they can sneak him on the PS if they think he has the potential they saw when the drafted him in the 3rd round?

Bob Kemp annoys me.. He doesnt have one shred of personality.. He comes off as a holier than thou type of guy..

Bob Kemp has a very dry sense of humor and no tollerance for BS from his callers; conversely, he will recognize a good take and be respectful and complimentry.

I see him every year at Cardinals' Camp in Flagstaff, you can also see other "press-pass" personalities like Bickley and MJ; while everyone else seems to watch practise with half-an-eye, Kemp is always tracking the action, watching and taking notes.

I ran into him one time at the Woodshed in Mesa, he came over while I was drinking a beer and just started chating (maybe he recognized me from up at Flagg, at Granny's Closet). It was college basketball season but I wanted to talk football and he obliged; I was very impressed and felt priviliged to hear his discussion of the NFC West.

The guy is a true professional and probably the best we have in the valley. What is amazing, is he is that way with all the major sports.
