If we fire Gentry, Charles Oakley should be given a look. He's done a great job of making their horrible big men look good. Also seems to know a thing or two about defense.
You make Oakley sound like a Make Up Artist for trannys.

Another feather to our cap. That is, another bad team we have lost to this season.

I wonder if there's anyone left in the Suns organisation who still thinks it's worth trying to salvage this season and make the playoffs? Even Nash and Hill, the eternal optimists, must be seeing the writing on the wall by now.

Probably. Look around this board. It wasn't that long ago (a week or two) that people began talking about seeding as if the playoffs were a sure bet. If we put together another 4 or 5 game winning streak, that talk, that hope, will return like Santa to the Mall.

Right now, we are the 4th or 5th worst team in the NBA. We're going to finish the season with the 8th or 9th worst record. We already have too many wins to finish much lower than that. I'd like to believe management recognizes this and accepts this. However, I suspect we'll trade Carter and a pick or two to acquire somebody like Hickson.

A trade like that would be just enough to make us competitive again and we'll surge towards the playoffs but likely fall a game or two short. That will take our reasonably valuable 8th pick and turn it into a long shot 14th pick. Fortunately, the news won't be all bad because odds are we had to include both first rounders in order to make the trade in the first place.

Yes, this is a reality check for the Suns FO.

IMO, the Suns should either be trying to collect future draft picks or a young talent not named Hickson. Hickson cannot even play with his back to the basket. I like the strategy of acquiring draft picks but the Suns recent record of drafting is deplorable going back to Zarko.

It would be nice to get a foul call when we were getting hacked all night....we shot 10 freaking free throws to their 30 what a joke! I guess getting whacked across the arms is just good defense to that reffing crew complete joke!

This is where the Suns miss Amare. He always got to the FT line. Too bad the Suns FO did not have a plan to remotely replace him with a quality PF.

Some people were even talking about being a 4 or 5 seed! I seriously wonder if some on this board ever watch the team.

Losing to the Pistons, getting blown out by the 6ers, then losing at home to the f'n Bobcats coming off of a back to back? Somewhere beyond pathetic.

The sad part about all this is that we still haven't reached rock bottom. In a league chock full of superstars, we have a couple decent role players, and that's it. With the exception of the Cavs (and I could argue against this) I would trade our current roster for any other roster in the NBA. Considering where we were a couple years back, it's just disgusting.

It's even scarier than that. Look around the league and you'll find a lot of teams have more promising rosters even if you exclude their best player. Some of them have more promising futures even if you remove their TWO best players. Care to go for three?

That is what happens when you have an age-old reputation for playing lite-ball.

It might be easier to shake if we actually had a Power Forward on the roster.

This is what happens when the team runs on stars that are past their prime. Nowadays, almost every NBA team has atleast one all-star calibre player. The Suns have three former all-star calibre players in Nash, Carter and Hill. They still can show glimpses of brilliance but that just isn't enough. Some of them will have to go to give hope to the Suns in the next seasons.

As for this season, even if the team doesn't make the playoffs, I'd be happy to just see them start playing good. I mean genuienly good, so that it's enjoyable to watch. I still think there's more to this roster if they learn to 'click' with each other on the field. But right now we just have a turnover bonanza with amazingly inconsistent shooting.

I have been saying this for so long.

The Suns only have 2 players with potential who look like they can be effective for us in the future, Gortat & Dudley. Everyone else is either old or sucks.

This is one reason I think maybe we should trade Nash so we can acquire young talent in return.

Look at Toronto for example. They suck but they have a bright future with Bayless, DeRozan and Ed Davis.
