Well, I just checked the rule book and you're correct. Apparently you have to play 5 guys out there so not having him would hurt us. Not much though. ;)

Steve

Well, that's one way to look at it. :)

It's interesting to note that Marcus Morris seems to be playing better in Houston than Markieff Morris with Phoenix of late. Maybe Markieff could use a wake-up call by going to the D-League. IMO, Markieff has played very soft recently. I dislike this style of play out of a supposed PF.

The Lakers barely beat them last night. I mean barely.

13 losses in a row... and that they played a game that they were probably pretty amped up for last night is all the more reason a blow out was likely tonight.

Example. that last exchange.

Albert - They called a foul
Ann - They didn't call a foul
Albert - i thought i heard a whistle

wtf, like they they dont blow whistle anymore when it goes out of bound :)

Albert is awful. Mildly entertaining but has no idea what is going on most of the time. I like his announcing "voice" but he does a pretty bad job of actually calling the game.

I "love it" when Steve calls a three pointer when the guy is clearly 3 feet inside of the line - then comes back with "Oh, they called it a two. He must of stepped on the line". LOL!

Yeah, he seems to have at least one of those per game. Embarrassing. I've tried to do play-by-play myself, alone at home with the sound off, and it's difficult, but seriously, this guy is the best they could find?

Sometimes after Alberts ridiculous call, there is a few seconds of silence from the other announcer and i cant help but think whoever is calling the game with him is stifling a laugh.
Dude cracks me up.

He has a good voice for the job, a pleasant personality, plenty of experience and a wealth of historical information plus a fairly solid understanding of the game. Unfortunately, he is either no longer quick enough mentally to follow the action or he simply can't see the game. I wonder if they let him broadcast a recorded game as part of the interview process, that would probably mask some of his shortcomings.

The bottom of the Marv Albert/Al Albert/Steve Albert barrel. Dragged on his sibling's coattails.

The front office that doesn't know how to draft young players doesn't know how to choose an announcer. Is that a surprise?

I don't think he is actually focused enough on the game. It's almost like he is looking at EJ or the bench or something else instead of watching the game. I really think that he isn't paying attention 100% of the time.

I also considered that he doesn't have the skills that we take for granted from polished play-by-play basketball announcers -- reading the endless promo's while following the game.

"This fast break is brought to you by Ex-Lax, when you really want to run." (OK, I made that one up.)

When he looks up after reading, he can't figure out what happened. So he waits for EJ to recap it for us (him). Then he repeats it in a slightly different way, pretending that he was on top of it all along.

I actually wait to hear how he is going to cover his butt. Uh, oh. Too much Ex-Lax. Or as we used to call it -- the verbal $hits. :D

Since there is some talk of Albert in this thread I want to point out that I am pretty sure I heard Albert call Ann, Eddie last night after a play.
