Here's where you lay it on the line. Post your bold prediction reagrding the Cardinals upcoming season. Prognosticate before you even see a practice!

Here's mine:

Josh Scobey is the starting RB by season's end.

cards win 6 games

Q only catches 75 balls, because Fitz is busy doing all the work, catches over 90

By week 5 Shipp is starting for an ineffective Emmitt, when asked about the move DG says "hey I make mistakes."

Josh starts slowly but steadily improves, Shelton replaces Big at LT, Big goes back to LG and after a slow start begins to play well. When asked both Big and Wylie say "well he had to learn the position."

Wendell Bryant finally shows why he was a first round pick.

Duane Starks wins comeback player of the year.

Both Dockett and Dansby make NFL all rookie team, Fitz is offensive ROY.

I'll get drunk. Either out of joy or sorrow.

Dockett will give us great hope. Our defense will rock (compared to the last four or five years).

Clement I could see but we'd have only Russell Davis if we cut Wendell unless we claim someone on waivers.

maybe it's wishful thinking but I think he breaks out this year. He really did look pretty good early against Detroit and then he got hurt and by the time he came back he just seemed lost. Not that Detroit is a great team of course but he actually looked like a good NFL DT in that game he didn't have a lot of stats but he got penetration and didn't just "stay blocked". Or maybe I just don't want to admit he was a bad pick?

In a less serious prediction:

Dockett is Defensive ROY...it only makes sense. We've started a new "over looked FSU player to ROY" tradition. :D

We're becoming the Arizona Seminoles! Player, Jackson, Boldin, Dockett...

Should we be practicing that goofy "chop" to use at SDS this season?

McCown throwing for 4,000 yards? That is bold. 4,000 yards will get you to the Pro Bowl. I dont see McCown going from 4 career starts to the Pro Bowl.

Here are my goals from a previous post:

2004 Goals

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am looking at the season not in terms of wins. I dont expect many of those. However I will consider the season successful if the Cardinals can:

1. Develope a consistent running game good for 110-120 yards a game average. I remember the Cards having good running games with Anderson, Metcalf, Jim Otis, Wayne Morris and Stump Mitchell. Running the ball is essential for a team to win. The passing offense can only be successful if there is a credible running game. In 98 the Cards had a decent running game. Key is to motivate an underperforming offensive line.

2. Develope a passing game good for an average of 210-230 a game. Key to being be able to run the ball and have a balanced attack. QB development and offensive line is key.

3. Develope the ability to limit the the opponents ability to run say to and average of 100-115 yards a game. Stopping the opponent from runnning at will is I believe the key for the defense to be competitive.

4. Develope a pass rush that will get 30-40 sacks.

5. Have a positive turnover ratio.

6. Not finish last in points scored.

7. Not finish last in points allowed.

8. To not be blown out of more than 3 games midway through the first quarter.

I will be happy to get 5 of those goals. Anybody have any goals, other than predicted number of wins, of their own for the Big Red?

Dexter Jackson has 6 interceptions and returns 2 of them for TD's. He makes the Pro-bowl

We're going to have to endure some horrible home tribute to Emmitt Smith as the year ends to celebrate his inevitable retirement from the game.

if he is healthy he could easily have more. assuming our pass rush is improve(it is!), then he will get more than the 6 he got last year

Marcell Shipp will be starting no later than week 2 of the season. Emmitt will be benched for lack of production or due to an injury.

Adrian Wilson finally gets it with decent coaching and becomes a star in the defensive backfield.

Anthony Clement will be benched in favor of LJ before seasons end.

McCown puts up astonishing #s and completely quiets the draft Manning freaks.
