McCown throwing for 4,000 yards? That is bold. 4,000 yards will get you to the Pro Bowl. I dont see McCown going from 4 career starts to the Pro Bowl.
Here are my goals from a previous post:
2004 Goals
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am looking at the season not in terms of wins. I dont expect many of those. However I will consider the season successful if the Cardinals can:
1. Develope a consistent running game good for 110-120 yards a game average. I remember the Cards having good running games with Anderson, Metcalf, Jim Otis, Wayne Morris and Stump Mitchell. Running the ball is essential for a team to win. The passing offense can only be successful if there is a credible running game. In 98 the Cards had a decent running game. Key is to motivate an underperforming offensive line.
2. Develope a passing game good for an average of 210-230 a game. Key to being be able to run the ball and have a balanced attack. QB development and offensive line is key.
3. Develope the ability to limit the the opponents ability to run say to and average of 100-115 yards a game. Stopping the opponent from runnning at will is I believe the key for the defense to be competitive.
4. Develope a pass rush that will get 30-40 sacks.
5. Have a positive turnover ratio.
6. Not finish last in points scored.
7. Not finish last in points allowed.
8. To not be blown out of more than 3 games midway through the first quarter.
I will be happy to get 5 of those goals. Anybody have any goals, other than predicted number of wins, of their own for the Big Red?
