Saw on the news last night that Q has decided to go with Condon when he can officially sign a new agent. I know nothing about agents except how much of a slimeball Drew is... Is Condon a good agent?

Condon is Fitz's agent.

Connecting the dots, Fitz will be doing something with his contract to get Boldin to stay in AZ.

I hate to tell all the Boldin haters out there, that Boldin is not going anywhere and just might be in AZ for a while.

Personally, I am thrilled to hear the news.

If this makes it MORE likely Boldin stays, I'm for it!!! I've heard positive things about this agent..

Do people honestly think Fitz is going to redo his deal and take less money in order for the Cards to keep Boldin? Really? I don't think its even a possibility, its a nice gesture but thats really all it was.

I've seen Fitz offer to restructure his deal several times, even recently. He said once, early on, he'd give a million dollars to Boldin, but I don't think it ever got as far as him saying he'd take a pay cut to keep Q. Restructuring is an offer to defer money until later for cap reasons... not an offer to take a pay cut.

That said, this does increase the odds of Boldin staying and I am very happy about that. But, if Q wants me to start to get over my feelings of betrayal, he can put his jersey all the way on and get out there with his teammates.

Fitz has never offered it on his own accord. All he has ever done has been asked a question by the media and he has said yes he would. He was put into a corner with the questions by the media and all he can say to be PC is, "yes I would". I mean what else would he say? It was never his idea, it has never been brought up by himself like Warner has done, and has never approached management about it. It is an empty promise because all restructering means is more money in Fitz pocket by rearanging his money around to take less of a cap hit. Warner was the only one who said he would take a pay cut.

As for this being a good thing and a move in the right direction, people need to remember that Condon is actually a much more shrewed and tough negotiator then Drew is. We just dont here about it becuase Condon isnt a media hound. Until something happens I dont see this as a move in the right direction nor do I see it in the wrong direction. At this point in time the only positive is that its a new set of eyes and we wont hear about it as much in the media.

Well, here's hoping will see less of the sophomoric play on Drew's surname as a result.

Condon is Leinart's agent, but I think Fitz' is Eugene Parker.

Condon has overseen some very long holdouts by rookies. I don't see him as being any easier than Rosenhaus.

I saw an interview with Fitz where he said he has communicated with Cardinal management that he wants Q here and was willing to restructure his deal to make it happen. Sadly, I don't have a link but it was relatively recently.

There is no report that Fitz will take less money. Only that he will restructure it to make it cap friendly to get the deal done soon.

Condon has no known problems ever negotiating with the Cards FO. I'm sure that he has talked with Q, (if in fact he is the new guy on the deal) and has a real good idea what the Cards want and what the player wants. If a deal is going to be made IMO it will be done rather quickly and have little to do with Kurts or Fritz's moneys.

What if the Cards just want all of this to go away until next off season or they just want Q to stand in line and shut his mouth?

I stand correct that he has brought it up on his own without a leading question. He did so in that interview you posted, not by outright saying it but by implying it by bringing up Brady restructuring for Moss for the good of the team. But he still didnt say he has approached management about it.

And if he has again its an empty promise becuase it means more money in Fitz pocket, up front money the Cards just wont be willing to deal out in the same offseason after still having to spending loads on upfront money for Boldin and Wilson in one offseason. Its a nice gesture but one that just is not feasible budget wise for the Cards management. It isnt a cap issue for getting Boldin done so again restructuring is an empty gesture.

Just to play the what if game....

If the Cards want him to wait in line till next year. It would be bad for the team as a whole, not because they can't win without him, it just would be very disruptive through out the season from time to time. It also would or could cause trouble with other guys with contracts that are getting close IMO.

What if the Cards did a deal with Q that foits both needs. That would bode well for the team as a whole and allow the team to move fowrad with guys after Wilson and Dansby who they may or may not sign to a long deal.

What if they can't get a deal done with Dansby?

That was fun. It must be martini time. My anniversary is today. 43 years with the same woman. Now what if ????

Condon represents Matt and Matt missed over 2 weeks of training camp, didnt even get to play in the first preseason game if I remember correctly. The second longest holdout since 1998 I believe.

There was just an interview on nfl.com this week in which Fitz stated that he had instructed the Org. that he was open to restructing his deal at anytime if it would help get Boldin locked up.

Joe you are cortrect about Matt. But there are many, many differences between the two. Matt was a very high pick in the draft at the qb position. As much as the Cards wanted the deal done, chances of Matt making any imediate impact was small at best. Where as Q's impact is undeniable over the next 2-4 years.Of course staying healthy is an unknown, but hopefully he would and yoiu can right in 11-12 hundred yards for each of those years.

Matt was an unknown. Another unknown is how much is Q really asking for and can he get it in the open market besides at Dallas and Washington?

Always a pleasure reading your comments.

I have a feeling this will benefit both Boldin and the Cardinals. I'm taking it as good news. ;)

His exact words were " I told the THE TEAM before that they can adjust my contract at any time so they can make the #'s work" Who do you think hes referring to if he didnt mean management? I wouldnt htink he meant the players? That would be just silly.

Condon represents a lot of QBs, the Mannings, Brees, Ryan and always gets his share of top picks. Yes, he was Eli's agent behind the infamous forced trade. He's every bit as hard-nosed as Rosenhaus.

While i hope this shows a big change of heart by Boldin, I just don't see it realistically.
