Fitz has never said he'd take less money, he said he is willing to restructure and that is a big difference imo...

I stand correct that he has brought it up on his own without a leading question. He did so in that interview you posted, not by outright saying it but by implying it by bringing up Brady restructuring for Moss for the good of the team. But he still didnt say he has approached management about it.

And if he has again its an empty promise becuase it means more money in Fitz pocket, up front money the Cards just wont be willing to deal out in the same offseason after still having to spending loads on upfront money for Boldin and Wilson in one offseason. Its a nice gesture but one that just is not feasible budget wise for the Cards management. It isnt a cap issue for getting Boldin done so again restructuring is an empty gesture.

Exactly. Throw in the insane amount that they gave to Warner up front, and Fitz isn't restructuring this year. All but guaranteed.

This makes sense when you think about the Condom/Trojan connection.

JTS

I swear you could do standup if your delivery was as good as you type. Or even a writer for a sitcom.

players love to "restructure" to "help" the team--

restructure meaning the team turns salary they were going to pay the player in 16 installments during the season into one up front bonus.

I have yet to hear about a player saying "you can reduce my salary this year by $x so we can re sign my buddy"

Condon is Fitz's agent.

Connecting the dots, Fitz will be doing something with his contract to get Boldin to stay in AZ.

I hate to tell all the Boldin haters out there, that Boldin is not going anywhere and just might be in AZ for a while.

Personally, I am thrilled to hear the news.

I don't think there are many who hate Boldin as a player, but rather have hated the Boldin situation. I love the way Quan approaches the game and his style of play, but after awhile grew very tired of the drama surrounding him.

That said, it is obviously the way Drew operates and you have to think he was the puppet master and Quan had trust that Drew's method would get things done. I am not upset at Q for wanting a new contract, I was simply annoyed at the way he and Drew R. went about it. I would be ecstatic to see Q locked up for the long time, even though I was one of the people who wanted the Cards to wash their hands of the whole situation around draft time.

My only concern is that Breaston will obviously be needing a new contract in the near future if he continues to play like his did last season. That's a whole lot of money to wrap up in the WR core and I would hate to lose Breaston for any reason. He still has a ton of good football left in him.

Do people honestly think Fitz is going to redo his deal and take less money in order for the Cards to keep Boldin? Really? I don't think its even a possibility, its a nice gesture but thats really all it was.

i agree with every post i see from you, its crazy.

anyways yeah i dont think fitz will take less money, i think he is willing to make less one year, and make up for it later in his contract.

also i think when fitz said that, the media made it look like boldin was selfish, and fitz was some hero. pffffffffff

Warner tried the exact same tactic as well, saying that he would give 2M of his salary to help sign Boldin, yet he is taking nearly 20M up front this year.

His exact words were " I told the THE TEAM before that they can adjust my contract at any time so they can make the #'s work" Who do you think hes referring to if he didnt mean management? I wouldnt htink he meant the players? That would be just silly.

I knew I wasnt listening hard enough. Dang earth movers going back and forth of my work trailer. I am a shmuck. But......

Why couldnt he mean players or coaches? Its a pretty ambigious term. He told the team through the media, he told a coach, he told the Warner and Boldin what ever, they can all be considered "team", but he has not talked to anyone in the front office about anything concerning re-doing his contract. At least I know for a fact his agent and the firm his agent works for has never approached the subject with any one in Cards Mangagment about it and the agent or the firm doesnt know of anything that Fitz has said directly to management either. So unless Fitz is going outside the boundaries of his representation which is uncharacteristic of him, Fitz has not talked to anyone in the front office directly, maybe indirectly through the media but never directly.

You have the right idea. It can also mean, give me more cash today, so it can be pro-rated for CAP purposes and we'll lower my salary in years xxxx and xxxx or we'll extend my deal an extra year for la di da dada da.

It never has and never will mean I will give up cash so you can give it to my buddy.

Ahem!

While there may be speculation out there in the TV netherworld about Q choosing Condon, there's been no absolute corroboration by D Urban, Kent S or any other source I'm aware of. (The closest was Urban's reporting that the general buzz out there points toward Condon).

We may be jumping the gun a bit on Condon.

We may be jumping the gun even more when we speculate on why Q's switching agents and whether or not it changes anything with respect to any negotiations.

Yup, I even heard last night the Eugene Parker may be the front runner. I guess we find out today.
