Not surprised, but care less than I thought I would.

Happy for Q, but more happy that Breaston continues to step it up for us.

We all know Boldin is a #1. Sucks we couldn't find a way to keep him.

Yup! Too bad his situation didn't turn out like Dockett's. It is sad when two entities that are good for each other can't work things out. If Kurt would have come back, Q would probably have been willing to play out his deal. Somehow Andre Roberts for Q seems a little one-sided at this point.

Like others, I can't believe I actually cheered for the Ravens last night. It was a combination of dislike for the cocky Jets and admiration for the "Q". If the Cardinals can't win it all, I wouldn't mind seeing Q getting a ring.

I was pulling for Q, pulling for the Raven or pulling against Ryan and the Jets...

It was good to see Q playing like the beast he is; but we made the right move.

One way to look at it is that we traded for Roberts. Another is that we took one of the thirds and moved up for Washington. We also took the 4th in that deal and picked up Kerry Rhodes. Considering that we were only going to have Boldin for one more year, that's looking pretty good right now.

Happy to see Q doing well. If we didn't have Breaston, who showed a lot of heart himself this weekend, I'd be much sorrier about Q's departure. I didn't care for a lot of what Q said off the field at times in the last couple years, but he sure did a lot on the field with a Cardinal on his helmet.

I love Boldin as a player!
Thing is, he wants to be recognized as the #1 reciever. He was never going to get that with the Cardinals as long as Fitzgerald was here.

I believe his issues with the Cardinals were more about ego, than about money. Too bad.

Boldin was awesome last night. I couldn't believe all the fantasy sites were only projecting him to get like 30 yards. I played him anyway and it payed off. I hope he stays healthy all year and makes a difference in Baltimore. I'll be cheering for Baltimore all year primarily because of Boldin.

I do like the Ravens and think they have a solid chance to go far in the AFC.

Boldin looked like his old self.

With that said this trade worked out for everyone:

Breaston has more yards than Boldin (7 for 132 vs. 7 for 110). So the Cards have sucessfully moved on without Boldin.

Cards got a future stud through that trade. Used the extra 3rd rounder to move up and select Daryl Washington.

Baltimore finally has a #1 WR

Boldin finally got his big contact.

one last thing: kudos to the Ravens coaching staff for continually getting Boldin matched up in the slot with Kyle Wilson, the rookie CB for the Jets. Given the rookies' inexperience, that was a mismatch

I am not sure that the pre-season and one game against a not so great Rams team can be deemed as we have successfully moved on. However, I agree that you have to be encouraged by Breaston's first game.

I am not sure I am convinced either that Breaston can carry the load like Boldin has on occasion with Larry has not been around to draw coverage away. In other words I am not sure if Larry is out, if we are screwed if Breaston becomes are #1 due to injury even if for a couple games. I had no such concerns with Boldin and that is where we will miss him the most.

Even tho it seems to me that he created that whole contract situation to force a trade to the Ravens.

He even said so himself in an off season interview, that it had been in the works for 2 years. Ray Lewis started to recruit him back in the 2007 Pro Bowl.

He looks happy now.

If anyone cares he just grabbed his 600th ball faster than anyone in NFL history. Some might since 586 of them came in Cards uni. It was for a TD too.

After the NFC championship game in '08, I never thought Q really belonged with the cardinals.

But I never stopped believing in his ability. When he's fully healthy, he's still an exceptional receiver, even though he's starting to get up there in years.

I never though that Fitz, Breston and Doucett (or whoever) would be nearly as good as Fitz, Boldin and Breston.

That's football though. Boldin was around when the culture was still bad in ARZ. He saw it change, but I think the early years affected his attitude some.

And,he had a tough time playing second fiddle to Larry.

I'm a little surprised he's playing up to the big contract numbers he received. I think he's exceeding expectations in BLT so far.

I saw Q had a big day yesterday. And doing it inspite of Flacco apparently. He's still a pro-bowl quality receiver when healthy. Can't believe that nobody would cough up more than a third for him last spring.
