Boldin has movement in all extremities

Anquan Boldin, Arizona’s Pro Bowl WR, was taken off the field on a stretcher after a scary collision.
Boldin was moving all his extremities on the field and was talking to his teammates coming off the field and going into the locker room. He was being taken to a hospital for precautionary reasons.
“He’s alert,” Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said. “He’s talking and moving all his extremities. He asked to get up and the doctors won’t let him.”
Late in the fourth quarter, Boldin went airborne attempting to catch a touchdown pass, but was hit from behind from Jets FS Kerry Rhodes, causing his head to snap forward, and then — almost simultaneously — was hit in the front by SS Eric Smith and Boldin’s head snapped backwards.
Both Boldin and Smith were on the ground for a while. Smith eventually got up, but Boldin stayed down not moving, as both teams gathered in a circle close by. Boldin eventually had his head immobilized, was put on a stretcher and taken off the field.

Q has full movement of his extremities and the preliminary Xrays revealed no breaks. He was taken across the river into Manahattan (Mt. Sinai Hospital) for a brain scan and will likely be kept there tonight for observation. If he's OK he will fly back to AZ tomorrow.

Thank goodness.

But, it wasn't a missed call. It was a ggood football play. The problem was that he was in there at all. After the last turnover I told my brother every starter they can spare should be out because someone's going to get hurt. Supid that they were in there, and they should have leaned their lesson and taken a knee after Boldin's scary injury.

You're wrong. Helmet-to-helmet is a personal foul and was a disgusting play.

Pariah, it was a missed call. Leading with the head and helmet to helmet contact is a VERY big penalty. They didn't call it. But they will see fines because of it.

BOTH players made helmet to helmet contact, the second guy lead with his head from the start.

AW got called for FAR less of a play in Baltimore last year.

He lead with the crown of his helmet, that was a penalty and will result in what should be a huge fine.

Happy to hear Q is ok.

Now that we know he is OK, it is alright to start asking the question "how long will he be out?"

Brain scan results came back and they discovered Boldin's metachlorian count is much higher than normal.

As long as he needs to be. No need to rush head injuries.

I would keep him out till after the bye....minimum.

why do you say that? you don't know if he even had a concussion or what was wrong..and you said he was out cold..where did you hear he was out?

I say from pure speculation.

It seemed to me he didn't move an inch after the hit and was out cold. His body looked to go limp as soon as he got hit.

My bad if that is not what happened, but I find it odd he would have been moving a little bit if he was not out cold. He would have had to been in some pain if he was not unconcious.

Trust me if he was not out cold, doesn't have a concussion, and it 100% fine then I will be happy to be 100% wrong.

I just want the guy to OK and not to rush back from a head injury. That is all.

Plus there is no need to worry about it. I can't imagine anyone keeping Boldin off the field if he thinks he is ready to go.

It was the same thing that got Chuck Cecil fined several times and basically shortened his career because that was all he was good at.

Good that Q is ok...would have been terrible to get hurt during a meaningless part of the game.

Smith will most likely be fined but if you look at the play Boldin was also hit or pushed from behind and his head was sandwiched between two Jet players.

IMO just keep him out as long as it takes for him to get back to normal. This was very very serious.
