Just heard an interview with Anquan on 860.

When asked about his contract status...He said he's been told something's going to get done and he's not worried about it.

When asked about trade rumors...He had an interesting story. He said that Culpepper had mentioned to him at the Super Bowl that word out of Minnesota was some kind of trade that involved Boldin/Moss. He said it meant a lot to him that the Cardinals were committed to him enough that they didn't send him to the Vikings to get Moss.

He also mentioned he was excited to see McCown and Warner battle it out. I got the impression he likes Josh a lot.

On his injury last year...He said he hasn't taken any time off for the last 2 and a half years and has decided to take it easy until mini camp which should give his body time to get completely healed up.

When asked about the team's chances next year...He said the key was to remain healthy. Believes they have the talent right now to win the NFC West. Excited about next season.

Overall great attitude, didn't act as if there was any doubt he's going to remain a Cardinal.

This just in...Boldin holding out. JK

Seriously, it's surprising to me that a guy with Quan's attitude would hire a sleazy agent like Rosenhaus.

I love this. Anyone else notice how all three of our starting receivers are all team-first, character guys? Quan is a guy who, after having one of the best years ever for a rookie wide receiver, said he'd trade all those stats for wins. Fitzgerald is known as a gentleman. Haven't heard much about Johnson, but he seems to be a good guy as well. They are also very good WR's!

Bob Kemp was talking about Boldin today and commented on Boldin's great attitude and classiness. He said that Boldin is a great person.

I'm glad that it seems that the contract situation is gonna be resolved.

Why?

As much as we all put Boldin on a pedistal, the fact is he is about the money as much as any other NFL player...in fact maybe more. Maybe this injury last year showed him his days in the NFL are probably numbered and he needs to get paid now! (Something I am sure is not lost onRosenhaus)

I like Boldin, but dont think for a minute he wont hold out if Rosenhaus says it s best for his chances of getting a big-time deal!

Thank you Boldin for finally speaking out, and putting a lot of speculation and rumors to bed.

He's not signed yet

It's easy to be nice when you have Drew Rosenhaus as your agent. You can say all the nice things you want and have Drew be your pitbull.

I hope it ends without a holdout but I'd say it's not even 50 50 that won't happen, the only thing that says it might work out fast is that Boldin is popular and with the stadium comming the Cardinals might cave more than usual.

I agree... what did anyone expect Boldin to say? It's a business and he's in negotiations... in these negotiations Anquan will play 'good cop' and his agent 'bad cop'... Smart on their part.

Actually Boldin is signed for 2 more years

The Offer of 2 years 15 million as an extension if very generous for Boldin. He will take it eventually. The Cards hold all the cards. He is under contract for two more years and by holdingout we would retain his rights indefinitely.

Of course Boldin will say all the right things. He hired Rosenhaus to be nasty.

Still, I'm encouraged to hear him say it will be worked out.

I like Q very much, in fact he is my favorite Cardinal right now. I sincerely hope things work out. He is also a real good guy. A family man. And best of all he is a player. The real deal.

To all those who point out "...of course that's what Boldin said.."

It's important to point out that Anquan, Josh, and a few other Cards are always involved with local radio shows, Big Red Rage, etc. They don't have to do that. From what I understand Anquan has been very gracious in signing autographs, participating in community events, etc.

Call me stupid but the guy seemed genuine on the radio today. Honestly he acted as if the contract negotiations didn't weigh heavily on his mind at all. AND he acts as if he's proud of the fact he's a Cardinal.

My point is we too often try to find ways to condemn the "modern athlete" how about assuming someone's genuine for once?

Regardless of why he said what he said, I'm still happy to hear it. I like Quan and I really hope something gets worked out soon.

The biggest concern I have about Boldin right now is his weight / conditioning.

When he finally made it back last year, a few things were very clear. He was over-weight. He was out of condition. He was not as quick on his cuts or as fast in his runs.

Over-weight and bad conditioning are just what you have to avoid with knees that are trying to heal. If he want to do light re-hab on his knee prior to minicamp while he watches his diet very closely...great! But if he pulls an LJ and comes into mini-camp fat and out of shape with a knee that has not been strengthend...2005 will be a wasted season for him and the probability of injuring his knees again will be high.

I can understand the desire to "take it easy" for a while, BUT...careers in the NFL are short, players have only a few years to make their coin, put up their career numbers, and then get out while they can still walk. The time to rest is after you retire, Quan. Until then, work like a dog and keep yourself hard and lean...it is your best insurance against injury.

DG has already shown he has NO patience for fat football players.

Yet he still finished the season 2nd on the team with receptions, only trailing Fitzgerald by 2. Not bad for an out of shape Superman.

I sent some questions to the Cards as far as Q is concerned here is what they had to say.

Thanks for your comments. I’m pretty sure Anquan isn’t going anywhere!!!
