Rubio is one of the most overrated players on Suns forums.

No idea why Suns fans have such a love affair with him

Yeah, I don't understand it either. If this were the 90's, he'd be a top attraction. But it's not the 90's and there's a reason that he's been the whipping boy of fans on every NBA team he's played for (and almost every season).

No idea why Suns fans have such a love affair with him or Kevin Love for that matter, unreal.

I can't speak for anyone else, but for me, it is because Rubio is not Harrison, Canaan, an unready rookie or Booker playing out of position, and Love is not Bender or a small forward playing out of position.

I’m not Harrison, Canaan, an unready rookie or Booker playing out of position—can I be the point guard in your universe?

He's played for 2 teams and Utah fans really liked him last season. They were skeptical at first but since he was making his 3's and helped them in a season where they were expected to finish in the lottery after Hayward's exit, he got a lot of credit for that. Mitchell got the most, but he's been a bit of a mess this year. Some Jazz fans want Mitchell moved to PG, hoping that the move makes him a more willing passer but I don't see that happening. You don't move someone to PG so they shoot less. I think Mitchell could be a decent PG but that's not a move you make midseason.

Yeah, that's why I said "almost every season". And there were still a lot of Utah detractors last season too although Mitchell was a big enough surprise to make most of them happy in general.

You are probably correct about Fox. I typed that a bit faster than I thought it through.

As for the Zion sweepstakes, I don't think the Suns will be there. Even a couple of minor upgrades, paired with the natural progression and improvement will drop the Suns out of the sweepstakes. Unless they intentionally decide not to make any changes/ trades, they will start winning a lot more. To be fair, I haven't looked at the standings lately, but I'd say that Cavs, Hawks, Nets, Knicks, Bulls, and maybe even the Heat and the Magic will end up with worse records.
We are the worst.....the worst. You honestly think we will have a better record than those teams? Based on what? That we only lose by 12 instead of 20? They won game one and proceed to lose 18 out of 21....I love the optimism but I ain't seeing it.

Who are you kidding. Three bad games in a row and you would be Rubio’s biggest detractor. Considering the season he is having that would be the norm.

Rubio is playing horribly this season, just look at his game logs.

Fultz has a better shooting percentage than him this season.

You could make the case Rubio has the yips too, but he has a hell of a lot less potential.

I’m not seeing it either. We had 7 wins at this point last season, and every team in the west is clearly better than the suns.

But even if we were 4th 5th or 6th worst the odds of getting a top 3 pick from those spots is much better this year.

I am not sure about that. We figure he is available, so we talk about him. Rubio is a very flawed player in his shooting. Last year was the aberration. Still he plays d and passes. So maybe he would help? Maybe? He is just one of the options.

Could be an aberration like you said but Rubio did have a career year scoring the ball and with his 3pt shooting in his one season with Kokoskov.

But the head coach did not change. The system is the same in Utah. Did Rubio forget everything Igor taught him in two months of play?

Koksokov was like their offensive coordinator (similar to how some nba teams have defensive coordinator) and I’ve seen many Jazz fans complain that part of the reason why Utah sucks this season is because their offense has changed.

I don’t watch enough Utah games to know if it’s true or not.
