well, i hate to have to sip on the cup-half-full angle yet again when it comes to Booker but...

perhaps it is a good thing that our #1 offensive weapon is sidelined for a while.
it will give the others more opportunity to apply themselves and grow

(the cup-half-empty side is it will give this young team more opportunity to get used to losing, again)

the article i read said Booker may be out well into the season :(
damn it!

I don't know why anybody is going so crazy at this point. His procedure is happening today, so we'll hopefully have better information tomorrow.

As for the article that said he'll be out well into the season... What article was that? Only thing I've read from any reputable source says that they don't know how long he will be out, only definite is that it will be the start of camp. They don't even say he'll be out the entire camp/preseason. He may be, but there is no reason to jump to conclusions now.

I'm not aware of a local reporter breaking this news prior to Shams Charania. It's disappointing local reporters are not on top of this.

And some want us to pay for their wireless services.

Has there been any info given as to how & when he suffered this injury?? Is it related to the injury he had late last year?? It's odd to me that those details seem to be missing...

It was reported Booker's injury happened in practice last season.

So it appears to be the same injury we are aware of.

Which makes this all the more odd that they waited until now to go with surgery... strange.

The hand started to swell recently which is why the Suns decided to act now.

Here is the link to the official release from the Suns:

"underwent successful surgery to repair an injury to the fifth metacarpophalangeal joint in his right hand."

The key word for me is "successful."
That's a "boxer's fracture" that often happens when someone is angry and punches something. It's a break in the pinky finger injury in the palm area. I suppose it could also happen when dunking the bball, but the angle is different.

Blame it on the Kardashian/Jenner bunch. Reading between the lines. He had an injury that was healing nicely and either he got frustrated and threw a punch at something, or was goofing around and did it, and made the injury worse.

That's what I was thinking. People are quick to believe the most negative reason possible, when most of the time, it's not.

I don't know if there's any truth to the rumor that he fell of a table at a Scottsdale club but regardless, I wouldn't rule out goofing around or throwing a punch. Hope it's neither but in the end, it doesn't really matter as long as it heals correctly and isn't one of those problems that lingers for years.

He should have had a late night burrito with PJ Tucker. :wink2:

'Lefty buckets coming soon' I'm not sure those are Books words but thats the right way to think of it. Plus the opportunity for Reed and others to practice their shooting in scrimages and games. Bridges, Jackson, Harrison, Melton, Okoko can all fill in at 2.

He can wear one of those stupid looking "oven mitts" that the baseball players wear. :biglaugh:

Speaking of burritos and Arizona, does anyone still call them burros there? Growing up, they were even listed as "burros" on the menus of local Mexican restaurants (all of them, as far as I know). I first ate at an El Torito near Angels Stadium in 83 and they thought I was from another planet when I ordered a Burro Enchilada Style. It took me 10 years of being mocked to consistently remember to order it as a Wet Burrito.
