Man poor Atlanta Hawks, Joe Johnson was never this good for the Suns. Not even close to what Diaw has been doing this year and especially lately.

There is no bigger triple double threat in the NBA except Jason Kidd.

Was actually talking to a good friend who works for the Suns last night and told me the Hawks originally offered us Childress, but BC said he'd rather have Diaw and the picks. That trade was just pure brilliance by both BC and Sarver.

I don't think I'd go quite that far, but Diaw has looked very good recently, and he was the best player on the floor today. I hope the Suns can extend him to something remotely affordable this summer.

I'm willing to bet that whatever we think is reasonable will be less than what Diaw will expect. The same goes for Barbosa too... At this point I dont care though. What a win today.

I agree. That's why I wrote "remotely affordable" instead of "reasonable." By this point, "reasonable" is too much to hope for. :p

We better extend both guys. I think/hope that they are the type of guys that are appreciative of how much easier it is to play with this organization than others, and don't hold us up for crazy money. I especially think this is the case with diaw, but again we don't know what his agent is like.

I liked how later in the game Boris started dunking. With Dirk around, anything less is likely to be blocked.

Question: How many people would have bet the Suns would have four guys score 20 points in a game - WITHOUT AMARE?

Diaw has had 2 triple double's, but how many times has he been within 1 rebound or assist? 4 or 5?

well he was 1 board short in the last game...he had many games where he was a 1 board or two short earlier in the season...took him a while to finally get one and is now starting to rack them up

I would not trade him back for Joe Johnson. He has been the 3rd best player on the team this year. They expected enxt to nothing from him. He has forced himself in to the starting lineup and played great. I was concerned he may go back to the bench after Amare returned but we know that wont happen now

It's pretty amazing to watch Diaw have a game like this, and then think that the Hawks still owe us 2 first round picks and we have part of the TE left. :D

If that's true I don't know what to think. Childress had actually produced in the NBA some and will probably be a good player in the future, Diaw was an unknown I guess to everyone execpt the Suns? Either way it worked out pretty good.

Diaw is the stud now.

In the 3rd quarter, I said we need to give Diaw the ball to create. Nobody on Mavs can really guard Diaw and the whole Mavs' gameplan is to shut down Nash's passing game by staying with our shooters. But with Diaw creating, Mavs had no gameplan for him and surprise them a little.

I want Diaw to stay here! 24/10/10 on National TV can really bring your stock up!

The thing about Diaw is he's captured lightning in a bottle in Phoenix. There's no other team -- no place within the contiguous U.S. or Canada -- where he could succeed at this level like he has in Phoenix.

He gets to play intermediary/conductor here; when Nash doesn't have the option to pass angles on any given drive, he can set up Diaw for a different POV. Marion owes as much to Diaw as Nash for the season he's having. On the other hand, Diaw would play center for no other team, and he's just not a regular scoring threat on his own to log regular PG minutes. It's a shame. If he were a hair more aggressive, he could play Joe Johnson's role from last year, and *that* would make him a real threat to leave.

His work here should be hailed, but it should also be put into perspective. He's valuable to us, but not nearly as valuable to other teams.

I'm guessing Childress would have come with lower tier draft picks.

When all is said and done 3D PLUS two high # 1's for JJ will trump DJ and a #1 for Rick Robie.

Diaw will attract a lot of team offers thats for sure, and I think this time around, the type of player Diaw is... he along with marion are the ultimate versatile players who can play 2nd/3rd option and put up HUGE numbers and help the team create mismatches that lead to a win. I think he is a keeper, unlike Joe Johnson, who is arguably a better one on one player and shooter.. but Diaw is better in everything else and a much better attitude when it comes to playing along with other stars.

I wanted the Suns to Draft Boris Diaw :D and I preferred him over Childress... or did you mean brag about him? :p

He may not succeed as much somewhere else but I'm sure a lot of Teams would like his all-around game at the 3 Position, while being able to play small at the 4... lots of Teams play small at least a few minutes.

Maybe I'll retire from pretending to being a Draftnik (never said I had an eye for talent but that I Love watching Basketball), BUT two of my all-time lets Draft this player (Marion and Diaw) are currently my two favorite players in League (Finley and Stoudemire were obvious choices) and Dwyane Wade is one of the premiere players in Game... could only go down from here.

According to Avery Johnson, "They play like any other team in the league. We competed for the most part, but they put us in a bind. Diaw was a tough match-up for our centers."

I think Diaw's value is more important than Joe Johnson now (so many JJ on this team!!!). He gives use defense and creativity that JJ couldn't. Of course it will be nice to have JJ on the team but Diaw fits REALLY well into our system where he plays center/PF and creates huge mismatches for the other team.

I firmly believe Diaw will win Most Improved Player this year. If it's not him, something is wrong!

Funny how in the beginning of the year, even after the injury to amare, most posters on this board thought there wouldnt be enough minutes for Boris and Leandro. No team has 2 more improved players, and add House for the three most improved players on one team. You know, Steve Nash and the Dantoni system have something to do with this. Both these guys are shooting over 50% and Barbs is hitting 48% !! from 3 after last night. They scored 44 pts last night on 16-24 shooting!!!

This hurts for Avery because he was a proponent(a bug in cubans ear) of letting Nash walk to the suns. Now Avery it seems, has trouble beating Steve Nash's team: "They play like any other team in the league". Yeah right, and that cowpie that you just stepped into Avery, is "just a little dirt".

Did he say that or was it "They don't play like any other team in the league." The first statement doesn't really make sense because whether you like it or not, the Suns don't play like any other team in the league.
