What did you think of the Pinhook? I've always seen it but can't remember if I tried it.

My wife finally was able to land a 1792 Sweet Wheat to complete her 1792 collection. So naturally we busted them all out to do a side by side tasting with the dinner that I made this weekend.

The Sweet Wheat was my favorite.

I’ll be honest with ya my buddy and I both thought it was better than the Eagle Rare which I see tons of people rave about. I wasn’t all that impressed. Pinhook has so many variations.

Ok this Woodford Double Oaked may have just become my fav bourbon. It’s delicious. This Cask Strength Heavens Door has some bite to it. Def not smooth like the old Forester cask strength I posted earlier.

We have the Woodford Double Oaked and it is pretty good for a decent price. Not as Oakey as I thought it would be. Definitely has more complexity than a standard Woodford.

1792 Full Proof is one of my favorites at a reasonable price, around $50 where I am.

I think Eagle Rare is overrated. Decent but not worth the hype.

All I can say is if you get a chance to try EC 18 year, do it. Top 3 of what I’ve had so far. Bookers small batch is really good too. Really like the Bardstown and Blue Run also.

Is everything
A friend of mine recently gave me a bottle of Smoke Wagon Uncut Unfiltered 115 proof Barrel Strength Bourbon. Produced and bottled in Las Vegas. The label had me at "Not for the faint of heart". Excellent, perhaps exceptional. Fabulous addition to the bourbon shelf.

Uncut Unfiltered is fantastic. One of my favorite Bourbons produced outside of Kentucky!

One of our good friends daughter is into baking and we paid her to make my son's HS graduation cake for his party. She knows us very well and made one of the layers Vanilla Bourbon. Absolutely fantastic and even better when enjoyed with a pour of Blantons!

Only $1,500 a bottle. Chump change!

He actually found it at a Sams Club in Orlando on the shelf like 3 years ago. Paid around $120 for it. It was the only one on the shelf. I didn't believe him when he sent me the picture of it.

Then he found the other one a month later at the same Sams Club. I can't believe that he got that lucky. They probably only had one bottle of each and he landed both.

Old Rip 12 is probably my favorite in the pappy line. And I actually like the 10 more than the 15.

Not a fan of Jefferson's Ocean but here I am...... Being a lush. Saving my Elijah Craig for Friday when I smoke about 25lbs of pork and chicken.
