vs starting stanton, its a great addition. I like winning games or at least being close to it.

I am personally on the fence.

If we are rebuilding, then rebuild.

Palmer is 33, so we are talking 4 years max from a QB that is already in decline, IMO.

Yet, that being said ? He is better then what we had, and got, meaning I think he will be better then Kolb or Double Deuce.

Is 8-8 at best gonna help us going forward?

Would 7-9 or 6-10 with a younger QB taking a better step forward and setting us up next season better? That's the dilemma here, imo.

We aren't a contending team WITH CP.

The BR is speculating on trade terms and compensation and then criticizing the stuff they're speculating about.

If it even happens, best we cool our jets and see what develops before getting our cojones in an uproar over stuff we can't even be sure about.

I agree. Age isn't that much of an issue here because Stanton is almost 29. Palmer makes us competitive right away and is a perfect guy to have while a draft pick develops for a year or two. If Palmer lights it up for us he's got 5 years left and we trade our draft pick and draft another one 3 years from now.

It's a win-win deal for Arizona.

Therefore no way it happens. Bucs will up the ante to the Raiders and CP will be in Tampa this fall.

plus if there is some cant miss QB like people want us to tank for, we can always go washington style and trade our entire draft for the one pick.

I am anti tank and anti that but its there.

I appreciate every single win, draft stock means nothing. My favorite year in cardinal football produced the #31 pick and I was fine with that.

As much as I think this is a year of transition, I also believe the the front office and coaching staff want to go for it now. Palmer is clearly an upgrade over Stanton, but without adding key pieces to the o-line, defense, etc., then it is just one piece of the puzzle. A true dedication to winning now would be addressing all weaknesses. Mendenhall was one piece, Palmer would be another. Right now, I see five positions in dire need of upgrades, and all five are right in front of the QB.

It's not having a crappy season on purpose, it's setting the franchise back longer term, imo. Build it right going forward, stop trying the short cuts that gets you nowhere.

So signing players who can help you win games sets your franchise back longer term?

Ok. Whatever you say.

Warner sure set us way back when we werent a playoff team right?

Winning makes people WANTto come here.

Well in the NFL any team that makes it to the playoffs is competing. We'd obviously have a tough haul in the NFC West, and the odds would be stacked against us.

But really we wouldn't be crappy enough to get the #1 or 2 pick so you might as well go for it. We have got talent, a ton of it. We just lacked in the biggest area imo QB. Then coupled with OL made for a horrendous offense.

I feel if we can fix both, imo, we could compete for a playoff spot. Maybe we don't get in, but it'll be a helluva better season than if not, and in 2014 we have a great shot if we can draft well and spend our cap space next year wisely.

I'm not even low on Stanton, but Palmer is a clear and decisive upgrade. Maybe Stanton could have done something, but Palmer IS something. I'll take that anytime.

But I feel it is predicated on getting our OL massively upgraded in this draft, which is very possible.

Someone on the comments there said the guy that wrote that is a whiner fan.

So it makes sense as to what was written when you realize where it's coming from.

"Favorite Athletes: Patrick Willis, Vernon Davis, Justin Smith, Aldon Smith

Favorite Sports Teams: San Francisco 49ers...

Favorite Coaches: Bill Walsh

All-Time Sports Moment: Watching the epic blowout in the Super Bowl against the Chargers in '94"

This doesn't make him incapable of unbiased analysis, but it's kinda funny. Bleacher Report has done a great job of building their business, but it's always good to check who the author is before giving the article any attention.

There is no guarantee Palmer will deliver anything more than 8 W's. That's .500 ball, it isn't winning. Palmer isn't Warner. ;)

Maybe the 9ers and Hawks get decimated and 9-7 becomes a possibility. Who knows?

And players are clamoring to go anywhere that pays them anything decent right now.

I get that he's better than Stanton, but he's no Warner, imo. He's reached his pinnacle a while ago.

Ok, That means we all need to fall in line as well? Tow the company line? :|

I personally like the idea of giving Stanton his shot and then going out and getting a rookie to groom this year and one maybe next as well. Build from the ground up.

But I guess they should spend their money somewhere.

tghere is no guarantee he will even deliver 8 wins but I can guarantee you this:

He will deliver more wins than stanton.

I want wins now. We can agree to disagree. I dont see winning more now as a detrament to our future. Sorry.

Agree. Unless there is a sure thing like Luck in the next draft you shouldn't go into full tank mode. Even then there is no guarentee that you will be getting your QBOTF.
