Bradley is going to be a beast but it is going to take an injury for him to get a spot in the rotation. Already got 5 solid starters so let him get more seasoning in the minors.

Solid like my stool. I think the more apt phrasing would be 5 entrenched starters, most of them because of their salary rather than their talent.

Corbin was taken out of today's game due to tightening around his elbow.

WOW!!!

If Corbin is out for the season and Cahill misses a few starts and Arroyo misses the first month, who are the 5?

Miley, McCarthy, Delgado, Bradley and Chase Anderson?

Does Collmenter get thrown in there instead of Anderson?

Even if Cahill is back in time, you still have Miley, McCarthy, Delgado, Bradley and Cahill.

Hopefully Hudson is on track to be back at the All Star Break.

So glad we had to have this early start in Australia (which is the only reason the team was trying to get Corbin to 100 pitches this early in Spring Training).

Welcome to the big leagues Mr. Bradley.

He has a partial tear and will ask Dr. Andrews for a second opinion. He can rehab it and be out a couple of months or have surgery and be lost for the year.

I hope they bring him up when he is really ready and not just because of this. We don't need to make a bad situation worse.

Torn UCL for corbin... donzo.

Next to Goldy going down thats pretty much the worst thing that could have happened. What a freaking bummer.

Wow... Major loss... Feel so bad for Patrick. This was truly "his" year...
Hard to see how this team competes in the west without Corbin. Dammit!

Arroyo threw today said he felt great... He is going to have to have one helluva year if we want to even sniff a wild card...

Rotation looking like (in no particular order):

Cahill (Delgado if injured), Bradley, McCarthy, Arroyo, Miley.

:stick:

Without Corbin, we have a very average rotation, but not one that's going to completely demolish the team. Our bullpen and hitting will dictate how we fare this season. We're going to have to score a ton of runs if we want to sniff a Wild Card spot.

That combo of Cahill/DelGado, along with McCarthy is worrisome... But I agree, the pen and our offense will most likely determine our fate.
Prado has been tearing it up all spring... Hope he can carry that mojo into the regular season. Trumbo has looked promising, including in the field... Can Goldy duplicate his performance from last season? Should we expect that? We'll need something close to it from Goldy... As well as Miggy showing he belongs in the majors!

As much as I like Bradley, he 2-1 with a 4.32 ERA and 1.68 WHIP in three starts this spring. He has struck out 10 batters and walked six in 8 1/3 innings. I hate to rush him at this point.

I agree, I think he needs to start in the minors and show better control over his pitches before he is brought up to the majors.

I have no confidence in Delgado, McCarthy or Arroyo. I think its likely that all 3 of them will have lousy seasons. Even though I am no fan of Chubs Cahill I think he has better odds to be 'average' than those other 3.

IMO, our bullpen and batting order will have to be spectacular for this team to contend. And I just dont see how we're going to consistently score runs. I expect Goldy to be very good, but on paper we are lacking in high OBP hitters.

Given Bradley's arbitration status, I'd rather he continue to work in the minors. I'd rather have him a year where the team could possibly be good instead of one where they probably won't.
