They really don't like either one of their QB's (Frye/Anderson). Quinn would be a logical choice.

The Browns/OSU fans want Troy Smith.

Joe Thomas will start for 10 to 15 years. Peterson won't last much more than 5. IMO.

Due to the Romeo Crennel/Charlie Weiss connection I'd have to say that the Browns have the best read on him of anyone.

I hope this drive of Quinn back up to where Detroit takes him. Then my evil plan will all come together.

I still think Detroit is going to take Thomas. Cleveland,i've said for awhile, is going to take Quinn if he's there. They need someone marketable to their fan base and Quinn is the guy.A new rookie QB always gives the franchise hope and Frye/Anderson aren't going to put any butts in the seats. Peterson would help but a QB is much higher profile, especially a ND quarterback who is from Ohio. The Crennel/Weis connection is also a good point i really hadn't thought of. All that being said,it means AP would be there at 5. He seems like the ideal Whisenhunt RB. A guy who hits the hole fast, has beakaway ability, and is pretty good sized. The only thing that worries about Whiz passing on him is the success that he had with Willie Parker. Coaches are pretty egotistical and he may think since he's had great success with an undrafted player like Parker that he can find another guy like him whenever he wants. I hope Whiz is smarter than that and realizes that that is the exception and the Steelers were very fortunate that Parker turned out like he did.

and that would be the expected tenure for all players at those respective positions. That seems to be all that can be expected with injuries at RB position.

Joe Staley in the 2nd would be real nice.

I have said from the beginning -- if Peterson is there (and you dont have the Texans offering a kings ransom to trade up), the Cards have to take him.

the draft isnt just a this season exercise -- its for the next five to eight seasons.

You are correct. Even with the pressure to win today, we must look at the long term. We have our franchise QB. I wouldn't mind investing in Peterson. Worth the risk. Anybody remember Aikman, Smith and the cocaine WR? We have two minus the cocaine and Edge isn't long term.

Could you absolutely imagine Thomas in the 1st ( if the other top 4 are gone ) and Staley for RT in the 2nd?

Wow. If that happened, it would be a bigger shock than getting Leinart in '06.

Teams are going to the two running backs. If Peterson is more likley to be a success than Thomas then take him. His coach compares him with Barry Sanders. I wonder how the experts have him on the value scale. He would make a more immediate impact as a RB than an OL who normally takes a few years to learn the NFL. Our HC has indicated we could use another top RB sometimes ago.

Troy Smith might be good, but there's no way they should take him until the 3rd round or so.

If Thomas is gone, and Peterson is still there at #5, it's likely he's a Cardinal. I'm just not that high on any of the defensive players or Levi Brown to take them at #5 overall.

Ask John Fox about having too many running backs. It's especially true with the Whis' new emphasis on the ground game. AP can be gradually phased in over the next year or two as the primary option.

All this is predicated on drafting the best tackle on the board in round 2.

Your evil plan wont work because of that meddling Millen. I dont think the Cards would pick Peterson. We will take a d lineman or trade down for Brown in my opinion.

I live somewhere
i will be honest. i worked for the Oklahoma Athletic Dept. before i moved here and got Cardinal seasons and saw Peterson play from the sidelines in his first season. I have never seen a back like him in college in a decade. He can run hard, horizontal, and from his workout yesterday can catch the ball out of the backfield. The one great thing he does that Edge didnt do last year is hit the hole. if he doesnt see a opening he powers through and the best thing about him is that you always think he can break one. I would love to see that here in Arizona.
