I don't think that matters. If Brady told someone to tamper with the balls and they ended up below the PSI allowed, then that's grounds for a suspension.

I think it's 4 games because he didn't cooperate.

I Should have added (lol)

Of course, it doesn't matter as the ruling simply upheld the right of the Commissioner to sanction as he sees fit under the CBA.

Ha! I got the perfect banner for the Patriots home opener:

"AIR IT OUT!"

Too funny huh?

Perfect!!!!!!!

I agree with Russ and I'm not sure if Rodger will lessen the punishment. I mean Brady is still being a pompous jerk about this and cost the league a ton of money in legal fees thus far. Maybe if Brady takes his punishment like a man then Rodger will lower it to 2 games.

The League can afford it and Brady had to pay for his own legal representation.

Sure they can afford it but did they want to. Set that aside and let's go with the time and energy they had to invest in this or the black eye it gave to the shield.

Take out "Brady" and insert "NFL" or "Roger Goddel" and you have a similar or even more accurate point.

I believe Brady and the team redid the details of his contract, during the offseason, backended current compensation thus minimizing the financial hit for the 4 games suspended.

He definitely saw the possibility. Remember when Brady re-worked his contract this offseason? During the deal, the Patriots and Brady set it up so he wouldn't lose millions of dollars if he was suspended for four games, but would instead lose just about $235,000.

The NFL office is just flat stupid.

Brady is the one who broke the rules and then lied about it and then covered it up and then sued the NFL even though he is a lying cheater.

I'm done talking about this. I hate liars and cheaters and don't need to spend my time on this anymore.

I actually forgot about this story. Is there still no evidence that Brady had footballs deflated?

They don't have video of him ordering "the deflator" to do it but it's just common sense at this point. The guy took both teams balls when he wasn't allowed to. The Pats balls were underinflated. Brady is on record liking the ball under inflated. They haven't yet produced a QB who's ever played the game who doesn't think Brady knew because they all said when they were playing if someone had tampered with the ball without telling them they would have gone nuts and the guy would have likely gotten fired. So if someone tampered with the balls, they did so with Brady's knowledge and common sense says Brady told them to do it.

Brady hindered the investigation so he obviously had something to hide. That alone deserves a suspension.

Yep!

Anyone in there right mind whom thinks Brady didn't have knowledge of what was going on with those footballs probably thinks OJ didn't murder his wife & Goldman either.

It's a bad ruling. Shouldn't have any suspension, at most 1-game. This whole situation is about Roger's ego more so than Deflategate.

However, hard for me to complain about being 1-0.

Yes, cause we never struggle against backups. :p

Tom Brady not ready to accept court ruling today - far from it, per sources. Mulling options with legal team. But this is not yet over.

Must just be a Serra HS thing. They just don't give up even when they know they did what they're being accused of doing.

If Brady/NFLPA seek a rehearing (they have 14 days to file), Brady's suspension will be stayed until process ends

Regular Season Schedule

The Patriots will have to play the following games without Brady:

Week 1: at Arizona Cardinals

Week 2: vs. Miami Dolphins

Week 3: vs. Houston Texans

Week 4: vs. Buffalo Bills

The opening day match-up against last year's NFC finalists was projected to be a tough game even with Brady available. A loss would therefore not come as a surprise. The same cannot be said about the subsequent three games: all at home, all against opponents that do not have the same top-to-bottom talent the Cardinals have. Until Garoppolo does take the field on September 11 and shows what he is capable of, however, the games are near impossible to project.

Did you ever, in your life as a Cardinals fan, ever think you'd read something like that?

A rehearing would likely happen well before the season starts.
