It would help the team much more if he were used to keep Marcus/PJ from playing the PF position.
This makes sense. With the Suns' obsession with tiny ball, we've even seen Green at the PF position in 4th quarters.

But all articles I have seen name Wright at backup Center. A 210-pound backup Center. 'Just another example of small ball.

This will burn out. The sooner the better. And Ryan McDonough and Jeff Hornacek with it. Or will it? Jerry Colangelo and John MacLeod employed it for a decade and it has become the foundation of the Suns.

I think he will and that was (hopefully) one of the reasons why the Suns acquired Wright.
I hope you're Wright. I mean right. :)

But, once again, the reports say he was brought in to play backup Center.

With the way Markieff craves punishment from the refs and his Coach, I can see Wright and either Mook, PJ or (if he's hot) Green as our two power players to close out games in which we are not blown out.

The Jordan Bulls usually had 3 monsters to patrol the paint. I remember Jackson saying once that they gave him 18 fouls a game.

Our 3 are probably better than any trio they ever had.

Bill Wennington, Will Perdue, Luc Longley and Bill Cartwright agrees with statement.

These comments are from a Paul Coro article dated 1-10-15 at azcentral.

Over the past two seasons, Wright has made 69.2 percent of his shots from the field because he sticks to his offensive strengths. He is not a shooter so his scoring is limited to the restricted area, where he rolls hard to the basket for lobs, runs well in transition for finishes, has a jump hook and scores off follows.

That makes him a fit at center rather than power forward, which spreads the floor for Phoenix. Wright likely will replace Miles Plumlee as a backup center to Alex Len.

Although I do not agree all PFs need shoot from the outside particularly as a backup, however, these comments indicate the Suns want their PFs to be able to shoot from the outside to spread the floor thus making Wright primarily a backup center.

PF should be able to shoot from 15-18 feet I think. At least in the modern NBA.

They could possibly have Len and Wright both out there and Len play that spot on offense.

I think they're both athletic and agile to have them be effective on defense. Offense might take some time. Maybe he's s poor mans Farried and can thrive off of putbacks and lobs. Len has some range on his shoot or can drive, as seen on Duncan.
