I'll get excited when our top picks sign on the dotted line.

Still this is good news.

Speaking of signings, why is our 6th rounder taking so long to sign??

I dont think DRC will be our longest holdout. Look for Campbell and/or Doucet, who both fell further than expected, to want more than their picks credit them.

Interesting point. That could happen. We've seen evidence of that before. Anybody know who Calais' agent is?

I just don't see a holdout looming by any of our picks, even Nique, unless there are so many unsigned picks among the first 15 that the market is still shapeless by July 23.

If that happens, it will mean the owners have summoned up a collective backbone. Considering what Jake Long and Matt Ryan got, that backbone is not evident.

My naive guess is everybody gets signed and in camp on time this year.

It would be really interesting to see how many teams get their picks signed before camp, I am so used to having our #1 pick hold out it seems. Does anyone know when the #1 pick was in camp for the Cards on time? If this is a chronic problem that other teams do not have, the Cards really need to look at their management of contract negotiations and get it fixed. There is no reason for our pick to miss practice, we need everyone in there on time. The Cards just need to look to their marketing campaign, "We do this together"..... well make that more than words and show it by your actions!!!! Sign the picks and get them there Day 1... along with Dansby....

They should have everyone in the organization working night & day to get this done. Even if vacations have to be delayed to get the players in on time, management & administration can take vacation while the players are in camp practicing, show the commitment to bring a winner to town!!!!

Several people make guesses like this every year, and the top pick is always the last to sign. I don't see why the trend would change this year.

Weren't people saying the same thing about Branch last year ("Because he was supposed to be a Top 15 pick, and he feels like he should be paid like a first-rounder")? These non-first round picks essentially have no negotiating room, because they can't go into the next draft or anything else.

The only holdout will likely be DRC. I hope that I'm wrong about this.

Hasnt happened before on any team and wont happen now. Rounds 2 through 7 are about as slotted as they come. They have zero negotiating power.

I think we do see DRC hold out. We still have 4 more draft picks to sign in 14 days. They still seem to be working hard on getting Warner done before camp starts. Who knows what is going on with Dansby. Lots to get done in 14 days.

Camp starts 23rd but I am willing to let a hold out slide up to the first real practice on the 25th.

I particularly remember a lot of people thought Dansby was going to be a huge problem, but he was in on time.

There are, usually, a handful of picks 2 to 7 who do miss some of camp. I seem to remember Bob Sanders missing a lot of camp as a 2nd round pick. But, it's been a LONG time since that's been true of the Cards.

bs excuse if it happens, they have had all offseason. What other job do you have to do right now other than signing people?

I could be wrong, but wasn't Demeco Ryans signed after Mario Williams???

I would hope Ryans was signed after Williams considering Williams came to a contract agreement with Houston before he was even drafted.

Ryans was signed before camp.
