Just a taste for you guys.

QB - Cutler, regardless of your feelings about him, has been very good. He is playing behind and OL that is struggling to put it mildly. He tends to make real boneheaded mistakes but it is easy to forgive them when you see just how good the kid is.

RB - Forte is having an off year. He is playing hurt from preseason but that has not been discussed alot. He is a patient runner and behind this OL that is not a good thing. Getting him involved in the passing game is important and the Bears finally seem to have figured that part out.

OL - Bad news. The seem to get no push on running plays and are uneven on passing plays. This is a problem area and one that the Cardinals can exploit depending on which Cards team shows up.

WR - The oft-reported weakness of the team actually isn't nearly as bad as anyone thinks. Hester and Knox are homerun threats and Bennett is a possession WR. Knox and Hester could run better routes but they are improving.

TE - A strength with Olsen and Clark. Two solid TEs who are not the best blockers in the world but Olsen has gotten better at that. These guys are Cutlers safety net as opposed to the RB.

DL - Uneven to say the least. Sometimes Brown and Ogunleye are beasts other times invisible. DT is a problem and if Whisenhunt is smart he will provide a healthy dose of Wells running. This could cause alot of problems for the Bears.

LB - MASH unit to be sure. Briggs is the best of the bunch. Roach is learning the MLB position and has made some big errors (one that was huge in the ATL game). He seems to be coming around. Hillenmeyer is an OK LB...nothing special.

DB - Tillman is very good but after that, uneven is a good word again. Bowman is fair, Vasher is nickel back and given the injuries to Boldin and breston, that makes things alot easier for those two. Obviously shutting down Fitz will be the game plan.

ST - Excellent kicker in Gould. Excellent P in Maynard. Coverage teams can be a bit iffy at times. Return teams can be explosive

Coaching - I tend to be more forgiving than most but there have been some real coaching issues this year...being woefully unprepared for the game against CIN.

Weather is looking pretty mild actually so unless there is rain, it shouldn't be an issue.

This is really a defining game for the Bears season (I believe it is a defining game for the Cards but for a much different reason). The Bears need to decide if they are going to provide any challenge to the Vikings or not and it starts with this game. There are some real problematic matchups for the Bears this week. We shall see if they can minimize those matchup problems.

JMHO on all this.

best of luck this week.

I have just subjected myself to watching the Bears and Browns (The things I do as a Cards fan!!) and your assessment of the Bears looks to be spot on.
depending on two things this game is a very winable game.
1. the weather....
2. which Cards turn up for the game.

Cutler is solid if not primeare.

Forte's production may be down due to O-line inconsistencies.

Olsen scares me to death, because I don't think we have anyone who can cover him with strength enough to pull him down.

Punt and Kick teams are probably the equal of ours, with return ability going to them.

I believe Whiz has it all over Lovie in the HC department.

I REALLY like our chances in this game. We get to be the BEAST on the road again in Chi-Town. I think our D-line gets a rush on Cutler from time to time this week, and that we are back defending their gaps and tackling enforce.

KW is more likely to have a good game than another stinker, and Beanie could be a big surprise in the Windy City.

I dont see it. Thought he was overrated last year as well. People keep saying how he is having a down year when in fact he is doing just as well as last year, he has similar production as last year its just they are not handing it off to him as many times as last when they spoon fed the guy. 3 yards and a cloud of dust, under 4 yards a carry and catching the ball 3-4 times a game, that's what he did last year and that is what he is doing this year. If they let him run it 20 times a game no matter what like last year he would be on pace to have a similar year.

The guy is Eddie George part 2, steady but unspectacular IMO.

I agree 100%, nothing he showed me last year made me think he was an elite back. He did get more touches specifically in the red zone last year but like you are saying his numbers aren't that far off at all. His good games this year have been beating up on bad teams he barely shows up against good teams. All of his TDs have been in two games against the Browns and Lions. He didn't go over 70 yards once in his other 5 games and he wasnt exactly playing marquee defenses. He is also fumbling the ball which is something he didnt do last year. Forte honestly doesnt scare me at all as a ball carrier.

Haven't seen much of Forte this year but last year he impressed me. A tough runner in my opinion.
