Are the cards letting the head coach bring in the staff he wants?
Could be the reason Sherman turned the Cards down if what Urban reported is true.

Did Urban mean Sherman is completely eliminated from consideration? Therefore, Sherman, Pendergast, and Rivera have been culled. Maybe Arizona will pick their coach by the process of elimination. Remember taking those standardized tests in high school and you didn't know the correct answer so you sorted through the wrong answers to get the right answer. I think that's the coaching process right now.

I kind of think this means they didnt offer him the job on his 2nd visit. I think he's still in the running.

General Choas is right. You guys are flying on rumor and incorrect information.

If you actually read Urban's story, he states that Sherman came to town yesterday and was not offered the job. We all know this. We also know Wisenhunt is arriving today.

By 2:00 p.m. he'll be hired on this board and by 4:00 p.m. he will not be getting the job.

I don't think the Cardinals are willing to pay Green, Sherman, Whisenhunt, and a new coach. Pendy will get it.

I wonder of KFFL got its info independently from Urban or whether it came from misreading an excerpt from the following EVT article:

There was a buzz surrounding Sherman’s visit Thursday that he could be immediately hired as the new Cards’ coach, including those who noted that Sherman’s wife was accompanying him on his trip.

But Sherman’s wife did not make the initial interview trip because of their daughter’s birthday. The other candidates had brought their spouses the first time around.

Rod Graves, vice president of football operations, had insisted Wednesday the fact Sherman was first with the second round of interviews did not mean he was the front-runner, and Sherman left town without a contract offer.

Sherman did meet with holdover Cardinals defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast Thursday, and Whisenhunt is expected to do the same today...

I don't see anything in the above article to indicate that Sherman "won't be offered the job." I read it as: "Sherman wasn't offered the job." That doesn't mean he's totally out of the running.

Exactly Jeff. KFFL is a second-hand source and they often don't post it correctly.

Frankly, kffl seems to have a bunch of illiterate morons working there who can't even steal and post information without muddling up the meaning of the original. It's always best to go back to the original source as Jeff did, and read that for what was really written.

hey whats the surprise..........you have people posting that galey will be interviewing saturday with the cards...i guess it will be a three way call with the steelers.........the same people making the posts about this one coming or that one coming will surely be the first to criticize whomever is hired.

As much as i don't like Norm Chow, i won't(at least i'll try not to) criticize the hiring until i see how they do. My pecking order goes Grimm, Sherman, Whisenhunt, Cameron, Chow. I like the 3 way call idea. Maybe they can get a conference call and include Grimm and Whisenhunt. Then the Cards and Steelers front offices can get together and decide who gets who :) .
