Thanks for the read.

I do expect more from Gortat and Dudley this season. Gortat knows he is the starting center and Dudley will likely continue to start at SG. IMO, Carter and Pietrus were not good fits in Phoenix and detracted from the continuity of what the Suns were trying to do as a team. Although I'm not expecting much of a turnaround for the Suns, I believe they will be much more exciting to watch as all the players should be on the same page.

I know Frye kicked up some dirt last year, made some high lite reels, but I think it's going to be Gortat, Frye guy, and the Dudster. I hope we keep all three for a while.

The addition of Shannon Brown will push Dudley too. I am sure Brown will try to challenge Duds for the starting position. That is probably one reason why he is coming to Phoenix, the chance to start.

If Shannon Brown truly beats out Duds for the starting "2" spot, it will help our bench. Especially with these back-to-back-to-back's and condensed schedule, it would be nice to have a 5-man talented and cohesive unit off the bench as we had a couple of years ago.

The luxury of such a unit to use a little or a lot, depending upon scheduling and matchups game to game, could make us a playoff contender.

I would rather see us attract talent that way than by tanking.

I really don't see a 5 man quality bench unit on our team...

S. Telfair
S. Brown
J. Childress
H Warrick / M. Morris
R. Lopez

The thought of any of these guys playing significant minutes scares me. Throwing them all out there together will be chaos & painful to watch.

I kind of disagree. I don't want to see Warrick play Suns basketball again unfortunately though. If Lopez is healthy I can see that being a pretty decent lineup for 15-18 minutes a game.

I think the break out player will be a surprise to fans. It will be Lopez. He is back in camp and healthy for the first time in almost two years. I think the coaching staff still believes in him somewhat and he will get a shot.

A shot at what? Backing up Gortat? He is already doing that and it's not going to change. Lopez will not outplay Gortat. All Gortat has to do is play like he did the 2nd half of the season and he is a lock for the job.

The only way Lopez gets a shot is if Gortat goes down or implodes from last season.

You are right about one thing...if Lopez rebounds or plays like a 7 footer should....I will be really surprised.

How about being a quality backup center? That would be a big boon.
