Read what you just wrote: lied to everyone until he signed the contract. Until a contract is signed it can fall through. What good does telling people you’re leaving if there’s even the remotest possibility you don’t leave? This is simple self preservation tactics. And it wasn’t like he strung them along for a long time. The Washington job came available and he jumped at and closed quickly. I get the frustration, I frown upon the mudslinging.

Good luck with that. You guys are in the same spot as ASU is with Crow. University presidents are practically feudal lords these days - unremovable unless they volunteer to remove themselves.

On the bright side, at least your president will likely hire an actual experienced AD to replace Heeke. Meanwhile, Crow will probably hire his brother-in-law, personal trainer, or caddy to be ASU's next AD.
