There was a buzz coming out of Cam Ward’s pro day at the University of Miami after the Tennessee Titans contingent watched him put on a show.

Not only did he impress the Titans, he impressed scouts and analysts from across the NFL with his display. Listening to one NFL analyst, this is nothing new for Ward because this event is an everyday, after practice occurrence.

When Jim Wyatt caught up with analyst Brian Baldinger, he mentioned that and a couple other nuggets of information that could make Ward even more attractive at No. 1 overall.

“The guy’s very poised, he’s got really good athletic ability. What he told me was that this was the script and it’s a big show, it’s the main event, but this is what we do after every practice anyways.” Baldinger said, “What he just went through, he goes through the whole script again after practice. They reload and the things they don’t do well in practice he goes out and works on them right here. I think he is detailed about what he is doing.”

Baldinger continued to talk about the good things he did during his pro day and pointed out the fact that he does throw a good ball and has experience taking snaps under center, something that can be a problem for quarterbacks transitioning from college to the NFL.

When Wyatt asked him if he felt like Ward solidified the No. 1 overall pick, Baldinger offered an interesting comparison.

“I don’t think it’s a hard decision, I think he is the best quarterback in this draft,” He said. “I don’t think he’s Joe Burrow, but I think he could be Baker Mayfield.”

That does make some sense, but Mayfield is a better comparison than Burrow due to the athleticism, poise, and ability to make things happen off schedule.

The Titans are said to be scheduling another private workout with Ward in the coming days as they finalize their plans for the draft. After this workout, it will be hard for them to move off the pick unless they are completely blown away by an offer.
