I actually like Harmon's tape more than Grants if I'm being honest, but both guys are projections at this point.

Nolen has the best film but bigger questions.

I think I'd take Jalon Walker at #16. He's just got such great traits. I'd use him the same way Gannon used Reddick.
Jalon Walker and Mykel Williams are two guys who I think I am starting to get why people are higher than me on.

Jalon Walker just moves so damn easily and for a smaller guy, can fight through blocks better than you would he think he can.

IMO Jalon could be tried at Edge and if he doesn't work out, move him off the ball and he could be effective there. Just please don't try to use him everywhere, we've seen how that can fail.

Let's not forget that Parsons was an off the ball backer first. I know you preach this, but sometimes traits really do matter a lot and Walker has traits in spades.

Williams worries me more because of the injuries and because of the lack of bend.

This might be my final list for options at 16. Monti might throw some off :).

*OT - Armand Membou (Best OL in the draft IMO)
*OT - Will Campbell (Great production w/ questionable measurable)
*DT - Mason Graham (Most polished IDL player)
DT - Kenneth Grant (Most upside IDL player)
DT - Derrick Harmon (Size and consistency combo)
DT - Walter Nolen (best first step from an IDL)
*EDGE - Abdul Carter (Really good at ducking blocks)
*EDGE - Mike Green (Great bend and plays angry)
EDGE - Mykel Williams (Prototype who people say bends when healthy)
EDGE - Jalon Walker (Undersized but dynamic)
*CB - Travis Hunter (I would use him at CB and WR)

* Indicates a player I would trade up for.

final list with 3 weeks to go??

id be good with anyone on your list - i don't see monti moving up unless it's a major position of need - specially in the defensively heavy draft - monti's put more than bandaids on our defensive front and hasn't done ish for the offensive side of the ball yet

I am just not seeing much that I think will change my mind. Very little additional info is coming from pro days, and guys kinda are what they are. I have had a chance to see what I need to see from these guys. Drugler's beast draft guide might give more info but I don't think it will be new info.

Our EDGE room is

Josh Sweat
Zaven Collins
Baron Browning
BJ Ojulari
Xavier Thomas

I don't see that as set in any way , shape or form. A lot of hopium in that room.

It's contractually set. They only keep 5. Sweat, Collins, Browning and Ojulari are locked in and I don't see they cutting a sophomore player that had 2 sacks in 200 snaps, that they know well and know what they have, for an upside gamble on a rookie.

Set doesn't mean the room couldn't be 5 peak Chandler Jones, but in practical terms that room looks set. Especially when you factor in they will give Robinson some snaps there.

It's not the injury it once was and he was doing this after 5 months.

It is still a critical injury that many players haven’t rounded back into top form from.

Also, shuffling in athletic gear against air? Am I missing something here?

“Sweat has been a really good, solid, steady player, but they will have to manage his knee,” an exec said. “Is he going to practice every day? There is so much risk involved already. Why compound it?”

He played lights out in the SB.

I think they are talking about his knee injury from 2018.

It hasn't been talked much about on the board, but apparently Sweat has a knee injury that will need to be monitored?
He blew out his knee high school when he was the #1 overall recruit in the country. It’s been speculated his knee has never been the same but it hasn’t affected his durability

My point being that the EDGE room is VERY upgradable. Especially if Sweat's snaps need to be managed. We have one legit NFL starter, one run focused reserve, one rush focused reserve, a mystery bag that kinda smells funny, and a ham sandwich.

I’ve been reading up on Jihaad Campbell. Am I wrong to think he profiles a lot like Micah Parsons as a draft prospect?
Similar size and athletic grades on NFL.com.
Parsons was a slightly higher rated prospect but they look to have very similar profiles.
Getting a Micah Parsons type player at 16 wouldn’t be a bad thing.

You are not wrong, and he could be great. To me, he is one of the biggest unknown in the draft. He has all the potential in the world, but I don’t think his linebacker-play this season has been excellent (very good, though.) He came to Alabama as a top-rated edge rusher, and was only moved to linebacker, because the coaches wanted him on the field, yet they already had Dallas Turner and Will Anderson (two first round picks) as edge rushers. In that sense, he is more ready for an edge-role than Parsons was.

I would deploy him as an edge rusher, because that role is just much more impactful than ILB, but he could be a wonderful fit for all downs (linebacker in base defense, edge rusher in nickel).

I would not be highly surprised if he is the pick at #16, even though the latest rumor is that he could fall to the end of round one, if not all the way to round two. The reason is that he has had surgery on his shoulder after the scouting combine, and he might not even be ready for training camp.

I'm not down for the "sure, we shouldn't take these types of prospects (ILBer tweeners), but they could be Micah Parsons" talk. The chances of that are quite small. The chances that they are tweeners and masters of no position are much higher. Pass, considering all we'll have to pick from.

100% - haven’t we learned our lesson yet? Give me a bonified DT or edge rusher- not a “could be” hybrid ILB

Honestly at 16 I am seeing pierce jr going our way in a lot of mocks. Initially I was against it because of the character issue reports- but maybe in a supportive environment/locker room under a no bull coach like Gannon- he could be amazing. The question has never been his on field production or talent. Maybe the guy is just a dick. To be honest, I care more about my edge rusher being a dominant threat / nightmare for the QB with a killer instinct than winning the who is the biggest care bear award. I’d be ok with it if he is the best player available at 16
