This seems to be the competition for the right side.

RT: Beachum, Jones, Gilbert (lol)
RG: Murray, Winters, Jones

They can still draft tevon Jenkins if they trade down, he will bring athleticism and nastiness, and finally our line would be a strenght
Then getting a cb in round 2

I like the idea of Gilbert kicking inside to Guard. If Murray can do it, and we talk about Jones doing it, why not Gilbert?

He's always been a quality lineman and the move inside will limit any movement issues he has post injuries. He's also had a year of rest and costs vet min.

On a purely talent basis Gilbert is far better than any of the other options, if he can handle the move. I don't see why he couldn't.

I believe it's the strength of the team right now after Hudson. Solid vets combined with some youth.

I am guessing the only way they take an offensive lineman in this draft is they trade back to pick up a third and there is a lineman that fell

So, like Winters.

A 24 year old has scope to improve. A 30 year old is already set at bad.

We've seen what we have in Cole. Granted, a backup isn't going to be lights-out--they're going to be sub-par--but I don't like him one bit. I'll gladly kick the tires on a vet like Winters as a backup. Plus, there's the chance a vet from a winning team like the Bills can bring some much-needed leadership.

my guess on what is happening:

last year the interior of the line had too many mental errors resulting in free runs at Kyler Murray

to fix:

step 1: High-end experienced center to make sure the calls are correct / anchor the middle
step 2: continuity everywhere else
step 3: competition and depth from experienced players

So, the offseason was about providing both a better level of security for Murray, but also depth in the event a lineman goes down. They decided not to go with rookies as they come with a learning curve that can get your QB hit too much.

three guys can play left tackle: DJ, Beachum and Josh Jones. Add Murray for tackle on the right.
guards?: Pugh, Murray, Jones, Winters, Garcia, Gaillard and Cole
center: Hudson, Cole, Gaillard

if you carry 10 OL during the year -- thats the names above. No rookies taken this year.

If he's healthy and motivated, Gilbert is the RT.

I'm not sure at his age and with his history of leg injuries he will still have enough mobility to compete at tackle.

But I think he could be very good at Guard. He's always been a big and powerful unit.

He hasn’t played a down in two years. He’s our Alford of the offense.
