I was never a big Jeremy Bridges fan, but I suppose he's better than Elton Brown. Great news regarding Harrington. I think he could contribute this year.

Bridges was the starter for the Panthers in the regular season game vs. the Cardinals last season.

Bridges became more effective when he went to Carolina. He broke into the starters role after being buried on the bench during our miserable years. Hope he can contribute more when/if his number is called.

I think the Harrington acquisition is much more beneficial than any of the other ones. I remember the Cards being upset when Harrington was claimed by the Bengals. He already has a relationship with Bill Davis and knows his blitz and coverage schemes, he should fit like a glove. Plus, OLB seems to be a position of need when it comes to depth due to injuries

It is curious however that Harrington was, at least temporarily, placed on the Cardinals practice squad, not the 53 man roster. Perhaps, the coaching staff will have Harrington go through a few workouts this week before deciding if they will move Harrington to the 53 and send one of the other LB's to the practice squad.

According to several websites and newspapers, Bridges has had two arrests in 14 months. Is it a concern?

"Bridges was arrested prior to the start of training camp for the 2007 season and charged with misdemeanor assault for allegedly pointing a gun at a woman in a strip club parking lot in Charlotte, North Carolina. After a trial in November 2007, he was found guilty and given a 60-day suspended sentence and one year unsupervised probation; he was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and do 60 hours of community service. The Panthers suspended him for two games for the incident.[3]
On Sunday, December 7, 2008, Bridges was arrested in Ballantyne, Charlotte, North Carolina and charged with simple assault and battery and communicating threats. The arrest stemmed from a confrontation at a local restaurant. The incident started when Bridges ordered a bottle of Dom Pérignon (wine) from the restaurant bar Saturday night and shook it up, causing the champagne to spew and get other patrons wet. The restaurant manager alleges that Bridges then got into a verbal confrontation with another patron and then a physical confrontation with the bouncer, at which time the police were called. Bridges admits that he shook and opened the champagne bottle, but denies any physical confrontation. He was released on $2,500 bond.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Bridges#cite_note-3 He was inactive for the Panthers' game on December 8, 2008, but it is unclear if he will face any more punishment from either the Panthers or the NFL."

The good thing about Bridges is that he has stayed in shape------unlike Elton Brown, whose strong suit used to be his ability to pull. Now that he is sporting that gut, he has trouble getting out in front. He also gets winded easily now. Give me an in-shape guy who gets it, and I'll take him every time over the lazy one who never got it.

I never realized how much Elton Brand was out of shape until he bumped the referee.

Like getting Bridges who can play T and G and has actually multiple starts at both spots since leaving Arizona. I was real uncomfortable with our backup T situation, this makes it a bit better.

I also really like Harrington returning. I think he's going to make it in the NFL. His rep was he's the type that plays better in games than he shows in practice.

Bridges is a solid player. He give us some much needed depth in the offensive line and is a better player than E. Brown who could never really stay in shape.

Bridges isn't very good. But I guess he is slightly less horrible than Oliver Ross, and isn't out of shape like Elton Brown.

I'm very glad to see Chris Harrington back. I expect to see him activated before the end of the season, probably when one of the receivers goes on IR or is cut.

I like the signing of Bridges. He was the starter on the line for an incredibly strong running team. Now, that doesn't mean the individual player will be great (coughcough Mike Gruttadaria coughcough), but I'm hoping he brings some savvy and grit over from the Panther's line. Plus, it's not like we're counting on him to start, unlike we might have done in years past. I like the signing.

From both Jeremy's and the Cardinals' standpoints, it's good policy not to burn any Bridges.
