Does netflix have both seasons? BB doesn't have either one available online. It might be worth signing up for a free-trial if I can get my hands on these.

No. Netflix only has Season 2 (6 discs) and the movie. It doesnt show Season 1 as being available and the best I could do is add it to my "Saved" list.

Ok, thanks. BB has both seasons listed, but I can only "save" it too.

The Twin Peaks pilot has still never been released in the United States. There was some big licensing issue which is why it was never included with the original season 1 release (how ridiculous is that). That's also why S2 wasn't released until recently.

Apparently they're releasing a new boxset in October that will have everything (Pilot+S1+S2)

Quick nod to the previously mentioned shows (and through them, the posters who nominated them):

Firefly

The Tick (animated and live action)

Sports Night

Although I do have a question about the latter of the three. One of the posters linked to a page that listed some of the great shows canceled too soon, one of them was Sports Night, and the columnist complained about the laugh track.

I never saw the show as it appeared on network television, but I do remember catching it on a cable network (I'd like to say Comedy Central) and it was without laugh track, which I thought was refreshing.

I know I'm certifiable already, but it'd be a relief if someone could confirm the laughtracklessness for be by agreeing. I'd hate to have hallucinated yet another portion of my life.

First few eps had a laugh track, but they phased it out pretty quick.

I was just going to post that Twin Peaks set. You can order it on Amazon now. Just be sure you click to it through ASFN.

It's well worth it, Twin Peaks is the best series ever put on TV. I have them all on VCD, I'm gonna pick up that set for sure!

Okay, since I just got Netflix back, I had to sift through this and find out what I wanted to select. Here are some of my thoughts:

I HAVE to mention Hill Street Blues. One of the best shows EVER. This early '80's show was more daring and took on bigger issues than most shows today. Sure, it had 7 seasons, but I didn't get to watch them all, and only 2 seasons are available :(

Deadwood doesn't belong on this list. GREAT show, and though it COULD have gone on, it definitely reached a point of closure.

Briscoe County, Jr. is one I have always wanted to catch, but could never find properly to watch online. Now I have it in my queue!

Firefly...well, I don't need to rehash the reasoning. Needless to say it is a CRIME to only have one season of it.

*****NEW SHOW TO THE THREAD*****

Slings and Arrows, baby. A major Canadian Shakespeare company that is MAJORLY disfunctional. Any theater fans that realize what kind of idiotic and zany drama that goes on in real life will LOVE this. Also, if you like Rachel McAdams, well, she's a star in season one ;) Yeah, it went three seasons, but it had soooo much more to offer.

Can anyone find Parker Lewis Can't Lose anywhere? Netflix doesn't have it.

He's a real nowhere man, sitting in his nowhere land.

Yeah, that show was going somewhere.

no, actually, I don't remember it at all.

He has had a steady body of work. He will also be in the new Star Trek movie as Capt. Pike. Also, he is a good actor so I don't know where your going with that.

There are lots of shows that make it with lesser known actors. At any rate, since you never have seen it, I wouldn't expect you to be able to comment.

Those are the lyrics to "Nowhere Man" by the Beatles. I quoted them, then made a joke that the show couldn't go ANYwhere because it seems to imply it's NOwhere.

Relax. It was posted in jest.

Studio 60, Las Vegas, The Practice were all great shows

Studio 60? OK.

Las Vegas (5 seasons, 106 episodes) and The Practice (8 seasons, 168 episodes?), short lived? Not even close.

Most would say neither of those are "brilliant".

Your a lakers fan Abomb so clearly you have no taste.

I actually like Las Vegas. It is a guilty pleasure, a la 90210, Melrose, etc. It is crappy good. Brilliant? Not in the least. Short-lived? No.

I had it as my ringtone for a while. Then my wife told me it was too morose.

The A-Team theme was on my phone for a while, too. That one makes an awesome ringtome, and you feel like maybe the person on the other line is looking for the help of a do-gooder ragtag bunch of ex-special forces blokes.

My ringtone for my father, when I worked for him, was Mission Impossible. I'm thinking about changing it to Oprah's opening credit song because I work for/with lots of women and there's lots of drama. It's like the Oxygen channel around here. Judith Light should show up any moment.

I digress. What was this thread about?
