I like Teo but A) think he would be a unecessary distraction and b) think he is partially a product of superior DL play with Nix and Tuett. Also looked very bad against best team he played and they went right after him. Hell be a pretty good player but I go OLB, OL, QB, or S before him.

Teo = Lofa Tatupu now out of the league

After all those years of being in love with someone, never even skyped or face timed or any of that because "it just never worked out" get real. Put yourself in that situation, I bet you woulda thought something was fishy after a few months

Likely yes...

So what is his crime...

#1) He is gullible and fell for a sob story and never bothered to check it. Likely had some sort of phone / internet relations with a guy unknowingly.

#2) He knew the whole time that he was having phone / internet relations with a guy and this is a cover story.

Do either of these matter on the field? What is the real issue here?

Actually Lofa isn't a bad comparison. Let's look at how Lofa did.

First 3 years in the league...led the Seahawks in tackles each year.

Made the pro bowl each time.

2007 all pro linebacker

So he tore his pectoral muscle twice but prior to that 3 pro bowls and an all pro...yeah why would the Cardinals want that? I hate all pro players.

Lofa was good for three years but then was figured out and broke down patly because he couldnt adjust and partly because he wasnt that physically gifted . Then his own college coach jetiisoned him. He played in league 4 or 5 years. We need more then that IMO. Another good comparison is Brandon Spikes IMO which isnt bad.

Like i said i think hell be a good player i just think we can get good/great players at bigger positions of need

Tatupa what a product of hype. 3 Pro Bowls and one time first team All-Pro meanwhile lets compare his numbers to Karlos Dansby. And I'll only use Karlos' first 6 seasons.

Tatupa: 407 tackles Dansby 553. 8.5 sacks Dansby 25.5. Pdf 35 Dansby 25. Interceptions 10 each. TDs 2 each. 7 forced fumbles Dansby 12 forced fumbles. nfl.com numbers. Plus Dansby has played 3 more seasons as one of the top defensive players on his team.

Yet Dansby never got the recognition, even among his own fans, that Tatupa did.

Unless you are a WR or 6'8" and block FGs you're never going to get the recognition playing for Arizona many other players on other teams receive.

Teo is one of the top talents in this entire draft.

Anyone talking about his fake GF might as well chop off their junk and enroll at an all girls High School because you gossip like B___'s

Honestly I feel bad for the dude, because whatever it was he had goin on, malicious or not, blew up in his face and his personal life was put on blast for the entire nation. My girlfriend who doesn't even watch football heard about it. Thts how far the media outreach was. Imagine what it's like to be in his shoes. But honestly, the dude seems dumb. All his interviews he just seems like he isn't All there. Add that with his slow 40 and all the pressure he's sure to be under, **** cocktail

Hmm...fair enough.

I think his floor is very low. "Solid Starter", Levi Brown type.

His ceiling isn't a Dwash but yeah Lofa in his prime is a great analogy.

I believe Manti will play in this league for 10 years barring injury...regardless of his gullibility or his sexual preference.

There are players that I'd rather have than Manti Te'o--a two-down linebacker.

Zack Ertz, TE
Demontre Moore, OLB
Jonathan Cyprien, S

Jasper Brinkley was one of the few free agents we signed to a long-term deal.

Te'o probably isn't even the best ILB on the board--Kansas State ILB Arthur Brown probably is. Te'o was built on a foundation of lies and a lackluster schedule. When he finally had a real opponent in front of him, he suddenly looked remarkably ordinary.

Stupid is as stupid does, that dude dropped in the draft because of it.

Correct. Would have been a top 15 pick if he wasn't gullible or gay.

So when top 15 talent falls to you in the second round...you take it. Especially when the off the field issues are "gullible or gay", which are non issues.

Nope. Never was. There was nothing special about his game outside of the pages of SI and the South Bend Tribune.

He looked real bad against bama, forgot about that. Couldn't get off blocks, got out played the whole game. It wasn't "his head wasn't in the game" either, Alabama just owned him

I like Ertz too. Another guy I would be happy with at our pick.

Arthur Brown? Yeah not bad in the third round. Not my cup of tea. Wasn't a play maker last year.

Right...so all of his accolades were solely based on the fact he played for Notre Dame. Glad we aren't bring hyperbole into the conversation.

This whole gay thing you keep going back to is weak sauce vato. I believe Te'o himself said he wasn't gay, and if he is I could care less. If you don't know that about me by now than you are the one who needs lessons. Your high horse thing doesn't make Teo's past stupidity any more acceptable. If you really feel that way about me than let's just part ways dude. I am better than that, my reasons have been stated. I don't have to justify myself, my actions and posts show who I am. I don't know what your problem is tonight, my stance on gay folks is well documented in this web site. If you think I would drop my values to diss Te'o than yeah, adios amigo.

Alabama's oline pretty much put foward the most dominant performance I have seen in a long time. Te'o absolutely had a bad game, as did the rest of Notre Dame.

With our D Line I am not concerned with his ability to make plays.

Pretty much. The MLB for a national championship Notre Dame team who told a whole bunch of inspiring stories whilst beating cupcakes on the schedule, but everyone saw them because the Golden Domers have their own network.

Ask Jimmy Claussen what playing in South Bend does for your national pub versus what NFL scouts see.

So explain exactly what the issue is here and how it relates to play on the football field.

I have asked this more than once and have yet to see any relevance.
