Even after signing Talanoa Hufanga during NFL free agency, the Denver Broncos are still doing their homework on the top safeties in the 2025 NFL draft.

The Broncos met with safety Nick Emmanwori and "a group of teammates" at South Carolina’s pro day on March 18, according to the Denver Post's Luca Evans. Emmanwori (6-3, 220 pounds) is one of the top DBs in this year's class and some mock drafts have sent him to Denver at pick No. 20 in the first round.

The 21-year-old safety ran a 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds and bench-pressed 225 pounds 20 times at the NFL combine. He earned first-team All-American honors last fall after recording 88 tackles and four interceptions (including two returned for touchdowns).

Nick Emmanwori is a safety with infinite upside.

He‘s an ATHLETE at 6’3, 227lbs and posted 4 picks, 3 PBUs, and 0 TDs allowed in 2024 to go with 73 tackles.

He’s capable of playing in the nickel, box, and single/double high. Unicorn alignment.

I have a 1st round grade on him. pic.twitter.com/zc9gfIaD6s

Hufanga and Brandon Jones are projected to serve as Denver's two starting safeties in 2025. Emmanwori is projected as a first-round pick and the Broncos seem unlikely to use their first selection on a position that is not a big need, but nothing can be ruled out this time of year. The 2025 NFL draft will be held in Wisconsin from April 24-26.
