Well...not that I want to trade down, but it's even better for us now if we trade down with the Browns...

Good! Here goes: trade the #3 for their #7 and one good young starter off their team.
Do they have any good young starters?

They get to take Ben or ELi at #3 and the Cards take Udeze

1. Ben/Eli (SD or other team)

2. M Williams/Fitz (OAK)

3. Ben/Eli (CLEV)

4. Gallery (NYG)

5. Fitz/M Williams/Udeze (WASH)

6. Taylor/Udeze/Winslow/Harris (DET)

7. Taylor/Udeze/Fitz/M Williams/ K Jones (CARDS)

Plus a second round pick that would be high end and/or a proven player.

Dude make up your mind. In other threads you bash the Cards about not drafting Suggs and trading down and now you want the Cards to trade down? You followed Green right? Tell me if Fitz is there at #3 do you think he will bypass him and let him go to another team? Cause more and more I see it if Green has a chance to draft Fitz he will.

(1) Trading down is not a bad thing in and of itself. Sometimes it might be the right move. Each case must be judged on its own merits.
Suggs was a no-brainer to me. And who they took made it worse.

(2) Yes I believe DG wants to take Fitz, but maybe he doesn't and wants a way out. Who knows.

(3) But if Ben or Eli drop to #3 and you take Fitz or anyone else you lost some value.

The Cards situation is unique they really suck and have a lot of holes so getting 2 good players for 1 good player might not be a bad idea. Remember you are only dropping 4 spots not 11 spots and will still get one of the upper echelon players: Udeze (more reasonable to take him at 7), Taylor (more reasonable to take him at 7), Fitz (he might drop to 7), K Jones more reasonable to take him at 7.

This is why Cleveland getting 7 is interesting you can still get a good player. If Cleve got 8 then I would be less likely to trade down.
And 11 with Pitt for example is too far down imo. Another factor to conisder are all the players coming out if they keep coming out even an extra round 2 pick gains serious value.

Yes I think DG will take Fitz at #3 but maybe he can get him at #7 and even if he doesn't get him at #7 he would still get a good player in the Fitz class. Say a Taylor or Udeze.

I mean Cleveland can make the deal with SD or OAK too. So...

I would love to trade down with Cleveland and pick Taylor, Udeze, Fitz, M.Williams, and K. Jones

It can happen since Davis was Winslow's coach his freshman year. I don't think Davis wants to have a repeat of by passing another Canes like he did with Portis.

I would do this trade down only if they give us Couch and a 2nd with the 7th. They would be getting Manning or Roth. That is the only way they would do it. If that couldn't happen I would still look to the Steelers in a trade down. They get Roth or Manning we get 11 and there 2nd and 3rd and Burress and we take one of the following: Winslow, Udeze, Wilfork,Jackson, or Jones. MW,Fitz, the 2Qbs, Taylor, Gallary andRWilliams will be gone so we should be ok with one of these guys. I personally would just take Manning and go after Darrel Jackson in FA. Take the best CB available with the 2nd and get a DT in the 3rd. Fa has to fix our Pass rush this year, Manning can sit behind Josh for a year and they can battle it out in Coach Greens system. I really think that we will win no matter what path we take this year in the draft and I am hopeful that we can win in FAgency.

William Greene might be available. If not, then get Lee Suggs from them.

But no, I wouldn't trade down in this draft. We have a super-blue-chip at number 3; why in the world would we want to trade down??

To pick up extra picks (that would yield real quality).....this is a very unique draft year when you consider the depth.......could very well become the draft of all time.

Well I think you can still get a super blue chipper at 7 but not at 11. That is the difference.

A QB or RB from Cleveland could be a real possibility but I want that round 2 pick of theirs for sure even if they toss in a QB or RB.

I don't know if they have a worthy player of taking straight up for the move up.
