I am baffled by this. The only reason that I am I am not shouting to bring him back is that it seems like something must be wrong. I don't get it.
Hood was released by the Cardinals because they signed McFadden to be the starter and Hood's contract was too expensive to pay a back-up corner; it would have been something like $3mil this season.
Make him an offer for #3 corner pay!
According to a league source, Hood signed a one-year, $1.4 million deal which didn't include a signing bonus.
I thought I read somewhere that he asked to be released because he didn't want to be relegated to nickel corner and was p-o'd that he wouldn't be the starter.
If true, maybe this will make him humble and realize that he's not starting CB material. I'd definitely take him over Ralph Brown.
Veteran cornerback Rod Hood, who was released by Cleveland Monday, will sign a one-year contract with the Bears as early as Tuesday, according to multiple NFL sources. Hood took a free-agent visit to Halas Hall in May but opted to sign with the Browns.
Bring him in please. But don't cut Brown
Are you that enamored with Brown?? I'd take Hood back at his expense any day.
Bring him back! Anything to get Adams & brown off the squad
IMO, Hood made a lot of good plays defending on the field but then he would allow the deep throw to be completed for a TD and not turning his head once to defend against the catch, negated most of his good efforts. Think of it, if he was as good as everyone said he is, why was he cut in the first place? The CB is one of the most difficult positions to fill on any team, if he wasn't a liabilty he would still be playing for the Cards.

I would've been excited about maybe bringing Hood back if he hadn't been cut by the Cleveland freaking Browns! That is enough to make me doubt how well he is playing right now.
I would agree except that they have sucked for so long, that it is very possible that the Browns themselves don't know how to identify talent.

im not enamored with him, but he's better than Fontenot or other guys we could cut. Brown was big for us in the playoffs too don't forget, with picks against the Seahawks in the momentum week 17 game, the falcons game, and the Panthers game.
Bears cut corner Rod Hood

Something has to be up with Hood. He wasn't great last year, but I thought he was at least serviceable enough to make a team.
