The veteran newcomer, freshly cut by the Browns, did some good things but also got beat deep and missed a few tackles. He allowed Browns rookie Brian Robiskie to beat him for a 26-yard gain. But the Bears need help at cornerback, so Hood might stick around a little while.

This is not a week that cornerback Roderick Hood will look back fondly on. In the span of five days, he's been cut by two NFL teams.

The Browns dropped him Monday, and the Bears cut him Friday, just three days after they signed him to a one-year deal.

Hood reportedly struggled in Chicago's preseason game Thursday night, and the team's lack of cornerback depth wasn't a good enough reason for the Bears to keep him.

did anyone watch the game? did he at least move around good? i still think we should bring him in if we don't plan on trading for a DB or signing another one of the NFL cuts.

Does anyone else find it a bit strange that the two guys who were our opening day starters at CB in the year that we went to the SB are both unable to make it even as a 5th back anywhere else in the league?

Yes, especially in the case of Hood who started every playoff game and the Super Bowl. The guy is good enough to be a nickel CB somewhere, there has to be something behind the scenes.

Next stop Kansas City?

I'd honestly welcome him back, I'd feel a lot more comfortable with him than Ralph Brown.

Well, its not like our pass defense was anything good last year.. 36 TDs through the air. I may be wrong, but I beleive Hood allowed more TDs than any other CB in the NFL.

Regardless Hood most of the time had very tight coverage. I would love him back...

But there has to be a reason he was cut twice so fast...?

Crazy.
