He also had the worst WR's and TE's in terms of catching the ball 2 years in a row and played in horrible weather. He isn't Kurt when it comes to accuracy but playing with Fitz and Stevie in a dome, might not make his accuracy as big a liability as you would think.
Also I believe that game was in Buffalo in the howling wind and IIRC he managed to win that infamous 2 for 16 game. For comparisons sake, Kurt was 6/18 for 30 yards in the New England "snow" game in 2008 and that was a big fat loss.
He gets my vote for whom I want and whom I think we will eventually get. Highest upside of anyone available that I can think of.
Again
Leinart
Anderson
Whitehurst/McCoy/Snead
One of those guys is going to be a hit....
His 51% completion came in a dome (UofP).
He had Kellen Winslow and Braylon Edwards, who both had 1100+ yards IN 2007 who he still had in 2008
He also had Joe Jurevicius who was a great 3rd option
He had Jamal Lewis behind him who ran for 1300+ yards who he still had in 2008
You can blame external conditions all you want, but the bottom line is that other QBs in the league's present and past have had success despite less than perfect conditions. Jim Kelly was successful in Buffalo. Tom Brady in NE. Ben Roethilsbeerger and Terry Bradshaw in Pittsburgh.
If you are a good QB, you are going to produce despite the conditions.
And you mention the NE game where Kurt went 6 for 18. Matt Cassel did just fine in that game. Even Leinart had a better afternoon than Warner.
Its not inconceivable that he succeeds in AZ. Its just that I don't want a wild Jeff George like QB throwing wherever he wants more likely 65 yards down field. There are better options out there right now and Id like the Cards to scout them first before they check out Anderson
