Love all the spin on the Beagles site. That trade is great for the Browns.

sent from a fone

Two guarantees during draft time:

1) The Browns will trade down

2) The Browns will botch all of its first-round picks

Also, Cleveland shortchanged itself. Its coup is unimpressive.

Wow

If the Lambs really do draft Goff & they traded away Wentz, they continue their ignorance IMO.

With the recent trades, I think the draft goes 1) Goff 2) Wentz.

Goff is more pro ready and could legitimately start Week 1 for the Rams; whereas, Wentz is a project and needs to adjust to the speed of the game in practice prior to being thrown to the wolves. Bradford is not a great QB, but good enough to be a placeholder for a year while Wentz waits in the wings.

The run on QBs is well underway.

Agree. Except for Joe Thomas and Alex Mack has any Browns pick panned out.

I wonder if John Elway is on the phone with the Eagles asking about Bradford?

I think Philly over spent. After this trade they have the 2nd pick, a 3rd round, then nothing until the 6th round I think.

Plus they have already overspent on Bradford and Daniel (over $20M this year and next). And they have so many holes after letting go of so many of Chip's guys.

Great point except it's hard to see Elway being willing to pick up Bradford's $18M per year salary.

This trade can help the Cards, knowing that the Bronco's (two spots back) need a QB. And while Bradford seems like a trade target, I wouldn't think that the Eagles would get rid of him before knowing that Wentz can do the job. Now with QB's going one-two, Lynch is sure to go by number 20. And if the Cards don't want a first round QB for themselves, they could get an offer for #29.

Definitely a sticking point.
Maybe there will be a three way trade with Kaepernick to the Broncos, Bradford to SF, and Denver giving up a pick or 2. :D

I agree, Garth, especially if the Broncos can't trade up into the mid twenties and if they start to worry someone in the second round wants to trade back into the late first round to take a QB. I know this is a hunch but I think Elway likes Dak Prescott over Connor Cook and Christian Hackenberg.

Wow---didn't think of that. Rare three team trade in the NFL, but it may make sense now that the 49ers know they won't be able to take Goff or Wentz. Knowing Chip Kelly, though, he probably likes Oregon's Vernon Adams, who does show a good ability to run the spread.

I don't trading a 1, 2, 3 & a 4 are very bad. I think this makes the Iggles better in the long haul.

If the QB everybody thinks they are taking pans out. On paper Browns received the better deal but the games are not played on paper. Lets see if this helps the Browns. Debatable if the RGIII trade overall helped the Rams. Defense it helped but the rest not so much.

Actually, Bradford only has a $7M salary in 2016:

Philly would have to eat $11M in accelerated signing bonus immediately, but it would be a good deal for them—they'd actually save about $1.5M overall.

What if the Eagles were trading up to secure the rights to Laremy Tunsil? There's go guarantee that the QB they like is there, but there's a 100% guarantee that a guy who was considered the best player in the draft, hands-down, is.

Wouldn't at all be surprised to see that they moved up to get Jalen Ramsey, either.

No way they moved up to #2 overall and they don't take a QB.

Interesting. The Browns need a franchise QB and traded out of position to get one.

If the 49ers want to draft one, they'll need to grab Lynch at #7.

One suggestion was that perhaps Denver would select Lynch and trade him to the 49ers for Kaepernick (among other pieces) or perhaps they would simply draft him for themselves.

But he simply won't last that long now. If the 49ers want him they'll need to take him #7 or maybe trade down. The Broncos aren't going to get him.

If by draft time the Jets haven't gotten another QB or re-signed Fitzpatrick, they wouldn't want to trade below the Jets. But who knows the Saints, Bears, Bills, and Lions could all take a QB. Probably not, but possible.

I still want to remind everyone that a Kaepernick trade is conditional on him taking less money, and he doesn't want to take 4.9 million less to escape the 49ers and go to the Champion Broncos, means a trade is not very likely unless someone budges from their position. The Broncos (not likely), the 49ers (possible, but apparently are tightwads so maybe not), and Kaepernick (so far no).

Right now Kaepernick may be signed for multiple season, like through 2020 or something, but this is the last year of that deal. No way in hell he gets paid another season. So the Broncos offer of less this year, but likely more then he'd ever get next year is a great deal. He should jump on it.

The Eagles want a QB, and Howie Roseman told reporters they are drafting a QB.

Perhaps that puts Bradford on the market, and perhaps the 49ers are an option. If that's the case, I can see the 49ers eating the 4.9 million in a trade to the Broncos. Because otherwise they'd likely cut him and eat almost all of it. Plus get a pick or something out of it.

The Browns have many holes, some of which they created this year by cutting players they didn't need to. The extra picks help, but they lose out on a possible franchise QB for a 3rd and 4th rounder this year. Or any of the other elite players. They get more help in 2017 and 2018, but getting the 2nd overall and only paying a 3rd and 4th this year is quite a small upfront payment. Now they have to hit on these guys and not waste the extra picks on guys like Manziel.

Move up 6 spots to get a high-value prospect at one of the other marquee positions? I think it's more likely that they traded up to make sure they were getting a guy they knew they wanted more than anyone else than "the other guy" at quarterback.

Unless someone let loose that they know exactly who St. Louis is picking.
