Agree. However if the price is right bring him back.

I agree. While I think joe speaks wisely, I think there is too big a dropoff if Q or Fitz get hurt and unfortunately, that has proven to be the case too often. Only a deal where the price is right otherwise hope you can find a suitable replacement for Q/Fitz when one or both get hurt.

I thought Bryant Johnson signed with the Buffalo Bills a few weeks ago. Did any of the Cardinals sign with Buffalo? (I know Pace is now with the Jets)

:). You do realize that the dropoff when Q or Fitz isn't playing falls squarely in the lap of BJ since he was starting in thier place. I don't want him back at pretty much any salary because it may make the front office think we don't need to draft a speed guy. Dexter Jackson in the 5th or 6th would be perfect.

Ask yourself this where is the bigger drop off if one of these players get hurt at any position.

OT - Gandy or Brown gets replaced by Vallejo
DE - Dockett or Smith get replaced by Branch and Watson has to play the whole game.
CB - Green or Hood get replaced by Adams

I would much rather have Boldin or Fitz and Breaston playing in what will be much more 2 TE sets and running the football style offense then I would be with most other positions if someone got hurt.

You cant have depth across the board, it just isnt possible in the cap era, so you have to pick and choice where you want to get depth and having at least 1 pro bowl WR still playing even if one goes down puts that position close to the bottom of my list.

Yes of course if the price is right. My price is nothing more then a 1 Mill cap hit this season.

It was reported they came to a contract agreement last week but he hasnt signed anything yet, which after a week is very odd.

Joe, I have noticed how alot of these other teams are using incentives both eaisly atainable and not easily atainable to give themselves more cap space the following year. Now I know its probably asking a little much for the Cardinals to get too creative for something like this, but would there be a way to give him a 1 year contract with alot of incentives so that if doesn't make them we end up with more cap space next year?

I dislike Breaston as a WR...especially being pressed into starting service when one of the top 2 gets hurt. I think depth can be achieved at all the spots you worry about and still get Johnson back for a cap friendly deal...not that you are going to get Walter JOnes quality behind Gandy but I think we can do better than Vallajo and still keep Johnson.

Personally I think Dockett is a tad bit over-rated (notice I say TAD BIT) and I have this feeling DT may yet again be a draft weekend pick.

I say all this freely admitting I a not a cap guru in the slightest but I think Graves becomes too terrified of the cap to make the proper moves and at some point needs to take chances and worry about cutting...not restructuring/extending but cutting...later down the road.

To me the dropoff from Johnson to Breaston at starting WR is very big.

Bryant Johnson supposedly was to sign with Buffalo today. Of course, the only source for that was his agent.

Apparently, it has not happened yet. He may not have even received an offer, from anybody.

I read the Bills boards today. Their fans sure think they made him an offer. The rumors they were talking about is that he's considering taking a one year deal and trying again next year. They mentioned the Titans and Tampa. But, if that's true, he might wind up back here. Still unlikely though.
