Would the Suns want Bryon Russell? I just read that he might opt out of his final year with the Wizards ($1.5 million) in order to go someplace where he'd see a little more action. He could be the backup SF the team needs.

His last two seasons have been very poor, but he's only 32. I haven't seen him play much at all. Is he just slowing down, or is there some hope he'd come close to his previous level? I'd think he could be had pretty cheaply -- probably not much more than the minimum, if the Suns were willing to guarantee a multi-year deal.

Kobe Bryant, anyone?

Kobe will likely be a FA in 2004.

What about him?

Starbury
Bryant
Marion
Stoudemire
Tsakalidis

Maybe we'd need new owner because of the luxury tax ;)

I would say no to Russell there is no way I would give him a multi-year deal sorry to say his day are numbered. I would much rather resign Dan Langi or draft a back up sf ZAKO ZAKO . :D

I am not a big Bryon Russel fan. I would say no.

This team is still to young. If they were closer to winning the championship and needed 1 more 3pt shooter....maybe.

On the Kobe front

Tom Gugliotta will be the Suns most valuable commodity next season. With Kobe opting out, many teams will be looking to get under the cap.

Specifically, Memphis would love to clear the room to sign him.

I think Colangelo will spend on this team...

They would like to dump Dickerson's and maybe Wright's contracts.
I don't think that Suns are ready to take them not even if we get Battier or Swift.

BTW,I absolutely don't like Russell and I don't think that Suns would need him.

Jumaine Jones is still my #1 option but Russell would be good value at cheap. Jones though was 1 of my favorite SF's in draft behind Marion and he could rotate at PF in 4 corner offense. In college he played at top of press? ala Outlaw the games I watched. Doutbful Suns could get him though. Deep draft for PG's and not a deep draft for SF(Josh Howard - Hakim Warrick and Darius Rice could enter but).

I don't think that this draft is deeper at PG than at SF.

If Warrick will declare (highly unlikely) he will go ahead of our pick.

Russell assure looking like he was a product of that great Utah Jazz system. He has played extremely poorly since he left there.
