Washington Wizards rookie Bub Carrington finished in double figures on Thursday and set a franchise record in the process during a loss against the Indiana Pacers.

Carrington produced 13 points, six assists, four rebounds and one blocked shot in the 162-109 loss at Capital One Arena. He shot 5-of-12 from the field, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range, in 30 minutes as the Wizards sustained their worst loss in franchise history.

The 14th pick reached 113 3-pointers on the season with the performance, surpassing Corey Kispert for the most by a rookie in franchise history (112, 2021-22). He ranks third among all rookies this season, trailing only Jaylen Wells (131) and Dalton Knecht (118).

Carrington is averaging 9.1 points, 4.2 assists and 4.1 rebounds on 32.8% shooting from 3-point range in 73 games, including 48 starts, this season with the Wizards. He leads all rookies in minutes per game (29.2) and is tied for the most games with 15 points, five rebounds and five assists (5).

The 19-year-old is among a crowded draft class for the Wizards, joining Alexandre Sarr, AJ Johnson and Kyshawn George. They are the first team since the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2021-22 season to have three rookies average at least 25 minutes per game (Sarr, Carrington, George).

Carrington has earned praise from several opposing players throughout the year, including Draymond Green and Kevin Durant. The Wizards have struggled to pick up wins, but they appear to have identified cornerstone players they can build around in the future.
