Washington Wizards rookie Alexandre Sarr scored in double figures and joined some rare company in history on Wednesday in a loss against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Sarr produced 12 points, four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in the 122-103 loss at Capital One Arena. He finished by shooting 5-of-14 from the field and was a team-high plus-four on the court in 25 minutes as the Wizards dropped their fourth straight game.
The No. 2 pick reached 100 blocked shots on the season with the performance. He joined Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren (2023-24) as the only rookies in history with at least 100 blocks, 100 assists and 100 3-pointers in a season. He is the only teenager to accomplish that feat.
Sarr is averaging 13.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 blocks on 39.7% shooting from the field in 65 games this season with the Wizards. He is third in total scoring and fifth in rebounding in the rookie class, and ninth among all players in the league in blocks.
The 7-footer is among 10 first-year players to score at least 30 points in a game this season. He became the youngest player in franchise history to reach that mark after scoring 34 points, six rebounds and five assists in a win over the Denver Nuggets on March 15 (19 years, 323 days).
Sarr is among a crowded draft class for the Wizards, joining Bub Carrington, AJ Johnson and Kyshawn George. They are the first team since the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2021-22 season to have three rookies average at least 25 minutes per game (Sarr, Carrington, George).
