Washington Wizards rookie Kyshawn George reached a career milestone on Friday and joined an elite group of players in the history books afterward.
George produced seven points, eight assists, four rebounds, two steals and one block in a 120-105 loss to the Orlando Magic at Capital One Arena. He went 3-of-9 from the field, including 1-of-5 from 3-point range, in 28 minutes as the Wizards dropped to 4-6 over their last 10 games.
The performance gave George 106 3-pointers, 63 steals and 50 blocked shots on the season. He is now one of four rookies in history to record at least 100 3s, 60 steals and 50 blocks in a season, joining Shane Battier, Jayson Tatum and Victor Wembanyama.
George is averaging 8.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists on 36.8% shooting from the field in 62 games this season with the Wizards. He has registered three 20-point games, including a career-high 24 points on Jan. 16 in a loss against the Phoenix Suns.
The 24th pick recently surpassed Bradley Beal to become the fastest rookie in franchise history to reach 100 3-pointers (59 games). He has hit at least one triple in a rookie franchise-record 30 consecutive games and is one of five first-year players to accomplish that feat.
George is among a crowded draft class for the Wizards, joining Alexandre Sarr, Bub Carrington and AJ Johnson. They are the first team since the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2021-22 season to have three rookies each average at least 25 minutes per game (Sarr, Carrington, George).
