I do think having former Bucks interim head coach Joe Prunty on the Suns staff has been invaluable in these games against the Bucks.

What if the Suns start putting wins together to close out the season? With a young team, they need a season to learn and gel, and half the starters on this team can't buy a beer. The team looked like a bunch of rookies this year, no surprise, but there were just too many of them for Igor to look like any kind of a wizard. Judge Igor hard, but also judge his circumstance hard too. Wilks had no chance of winning this year and he was dumped with a boot sole. Tocchet didn't win a single game in the first 20+ games last year, one of the worst starts in 100 years of the NHL, but they held on and look at them now.

My gosh that 3pt shot bouncing so high then dropping, I thought this is it they're going to lose now. I think there was a minute left at that point.

Refreshing to see Ayton drive the ball in anywhere from the perimeter, there was nothing Giannis could do. He did that two times in the Lakers game as well.

They executed one inbound play very well where they kept the ball away from the Bucks who needed to foul. Then another inbound play they threw the ball in air and Bledsoe could have stolen it.

Ayton made some huge free throws and Oubre was fortunate to get his own rebound after his miss on that second attempt.

Great win.

Suns are gonna have to overpay Oubre to keep him. Money being equal why would any UFA choose Phoenix?

We really should not get too excited about this win.

The main reason the suns won is Millwaukee shot worse than usual from 3 point range. The Suns still have the same weaknesses. They would not have been close in rebounding without the inordinate amount of missed 3's.

The Suns have not fixed their shooting or rebounding. They are playing better D - a lot of which I actually attribute to Tyler Johnson who plays very smart team defense, but that is not going to be enough against most good teams if they shoot their normal percentage.

It's three wins in four tbf. I'm not saying crown us champs, but we can get a little excited.

And here is the tweet that supports this.

I wonder if Suns coaches enjoyed the win this much.

Gotta give Igor credit. He’s made the team play with effort and has done a better job of keeping the team organized and focused. Putting Ayton on LeBron and Giannis was a terrific move as it made him play his ass off on D and kept him engaged on both ends.
That’s a really interesting point. Can’t hide and loaf on D if you’re guarding the players everyone is watching. Forces Ayton to remain engaged. Thanks for pointing that out.

Man am I bummed I missed this game. Great w.

So interesting to see Ayton used on mobile bigs like Giannis and lebron. TJ’s point really sinks home about it keeping him engaged.

Hope to see this continue to roll!!!!

I think his imroved D has more to do with Elindholm’s point the other day that Ayton struggles to make adjustments. He doesn’t know when to help or when to get back to his guy. By asking him to guard one person they have greatly simplified his task and taken advantage of his strengths.

What worked out real well is that Ayton has the length and speed to stay with Giannis, and Giannis isn't shooting a bunch of 3's and is not an elite outside shooter.

Well sure, if one of the league's top teams plays well, the Suns can't beat them. But every team has good games and bad games, and the Suns have to get to the stage where they can beat a good team having a bad game. Most of this season, teams could play like garbage and beat the Suns anyway, with the proverbial one hand tied behind their backs. You have to start somewhere.

Quitter. I admire Warren for having improved his shooting, but it was evident from watching the chemistry at the end of last night's game that the rest of the roster has moved on from him. They finally had a possible glimpse of the future to get excited about, and Warren isn't part of it.

they should have sold high on him at the beginning of the season when they had the chance

True, but with Booker also missing time and the offense looking truly anemic, they needed Warren to avoid being an even bigger embarrassment than they already were.

I don't think it is possible to be a bigger embarassment than they already were.
