If he can be an addition to the current team and gameplan, that could be a huge get because he's still a great player. But he needs to be complimentary. That's the key.
By no metric or observation is Beal anywhere near a great player anymore. He's decent when focused and engaged, but that happens so infrequently to be irrelevant. He's a 15-20M dollar player making near 60.

Better that he's not even around at this point - the Suns are a superior team without him.

You missed the point, but ok.

We have him, you either have to accept that or don't. And he is a great player still. Not worth his contract, but he would easily be considered for 6th man of the year had he played more this season. If you don't believe that, you haven't been paying attention.

No I didn't - you said he is great. He is not great by any stretch of the imagination at this point. Great players are near all stars. Beal isn't even close to that, and continues to get worse. He has the worst plus minus on the team. That doesn't happen to great players.

I'd trade away assets at this point just to get rid of him. He's never been a winner, and as his skills diminish, the problem has become worse.

No, just because you say he's great doesn't make it so. He was arguably "great" when he was putting up big numbers on bad teams, if that impresses you, great.

I've watched most games this season - having good performances one out of every 5+ games doesn't qualify for great.

this new look is beal's best chance at redemption - he likes to penetrate and defer - he has a sweet 3 ball and can anticipate on defense - he might make this team even better

But he hasn't bee available so that is moot IMO. Also, I would no longer consider him a great player either if you can't rely on him. At times he can be effective. That's about as far as I would take it.

Let's say he comes back next game and doesn't get injured the rest of the way. What then?

Best thing we should do is just shut him down for the season. He's been a negative all season long.

So he doesn't hurt himself anymore; physically, team wise, and his value.

I absolutely believe Ryan Dunn matching up with Kyle Kuzma is a matchup favoring the Suns. Dunn can torment Kuzma.

These just aren't the 2021 Finals Bucks.

you just know we’ll see Ryan guarding Giannis at some point. Intrigued by that. My guess is that doesn’t last long.

it's everybody on everybody with all the switching we're doing now - we saw both gillespie and tyus covering jarret allen on friday which isn't ideal but the results as a whole have been cool

So do you think we shouldn't be driving the ball? Rim pressure is a good thing most of the time.

I just don't see many negatives about driving the ball. And Beal by far is our best player at doing it. If the lane is there, you gotta take it. Make the big men have to defend at the rim, opening up shooters from close outs.

Driving the ball in itself is a good thing, so long as it is not myopic, dominating the ball, eating up unnecessary time on the clock or at the cost of finding open teammates.

Improved ball movement has helped the Suns offense. I don't want the Suns to go back to isolation basketball.

Bud clarifies players being available does not necessarily mean they will play.

The Mavericks beat the Nets tonight so the Suns need to win if they want to hold onto 10th place in the West.
