Suns could have used a player like Bobby Portis.

True but they certainly look like a very complete team to me.

they don’t have a true second star and their MVP shrinks at the end of games. Jrue and Middleton are both at the very low end of second bananas in comparison to other contenders.

Which makes them look like great regular season contenders... but I still I think they’re a title pretender come playoffs.

What they lack in 2nd star they make up for with a supporting cast. I’d take the Bucks bench over the Lakers, for example. The Clippers would be the closest IMO.

Bucks have a tremendous inside game with Giannis and are not missing outside either.

Portis is a factor with 8 points.

The one thing they have going for them is that they are in the eastern conference where most of the contenders are built in a similar fashion

Suns are constantly giving up the open three.

did they say at the beginning of the broadcast that we were fifth in the league defending the three? If so, is that really true? It seems like we are constantly giving up wide open 3s.

No I think we are #5 in overall defense.

they’ve had that the last two years and they haven’t gone anywhere. I expect the same this year. Either Philly or Brooklyn beats them, IMO.

And Ayton with the three in rhythm. Suns trail 56-49.

I don’t think a great bench matters come playoffs when so many games are decided late, especially because Giannis disappears at the end of games.

Maybe the Suns are overly focused on Giannis. Right now they are giving Giannis and the other Bucks every shot they want.

Well we can talk about the playoffs specifically if you’d like, but I was just stating what I observed based on this game.

Bucks are 13-24 from three and Portis cleaning up misses.
